All of them :)

  1. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?

The article. I am still correcting now, been working on shortening it.

  1. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

I enjoyed doing the 5 graphics for my further experience. I have used canvas.

@ouiCherie

Thank you !!

Regarding article writing, here are a few tips from my own experience :

- Choose your subject very early on so your brain can start working on it before you start doing your research. If you selected a topic your brain will unconsciously look for content related to it and work on the angle you'll take in your article without you even noticing.

- Submit your title as soon as possible. You might need to rewrite it and you will need a lot of time after to finish your article.

- Use targeted research tools to find scientific articles to evidence your reasoning, this includes google scholar but also for example https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

- I found the plagiarism checkers often annoying as they flag as plagiarism sometimes a sentence that uses an exact expression which isn't plagiarism but just the expression you are referring to. Use multiple ones and take a close look at what they flag as plagiarism.

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed?

All of them, this is my last weekly report before graduating :)

  1. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?

Quite a few things, but I think that those I first struggled with are those I have accomplished the best work down the line :)

  1. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

Graphics were probably an easier part for me as I spent a lot of time doing digital crafts in my early 20s. As a tip, I would say to start first a board with all the images you are interested in because they relate to your theme and your style, then cut down to the very best to use in your graphic. This allows your eye some time to get used to the images and sort your graphic dynamic on its own.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification despite being tagged.

1. I'm currently doing the further practical experience. I finished my 5 media posts and submitted my interest form for the growth path a few days ago, just waiting for approval right now (also unsure how to check my status of approval)

2. I struggled with writing my article submission because I found it difficult to make my writing sound engaging. However, I found it helpful to refer back to coursework, read other users' articles and research online

3. I found making media posts for e.g. the 7 Cups *** enjoyable. Something I found helpful was using references when you're feeling stuck and putting your own "spin" on it, to make it original

I'll pm you now for details! Thank you for approving my extension requestion!!

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed? I just completed my Last Step Form
  2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around? I had trouble creating original content at first
  3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others. I found creating a growth path for further practical experience very interesting. A tip would be to plan things out so that even if unexpected events happen you can still complete the discussions and article in time.

Week 1:

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed?

The last discussion I completed was the final course work was reviewing and promoting current articles.

2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?

I'm struggling with my article title. My initial article title had a high readability and SEO of 60, but no sentiment which brought my score down and I'm struggling to find something that brings the overall score up. I found one that took my SEO up to 73, but took my readability down and still didn't have any sentiment.

Another thing I was told this week is my tone is very scholarly, which isn't a bad thing, but may be could work on making it a little more personal and slightly less scholarly to increase readability. I think I usually do a bit better when I have a few paragraphs where I'm really scholarly, and then sort of add a more personal punch whether it's an anecdote from my life or examples that the reader might more readily recognize and understand.

3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

I got all of my course work done quickly. I started a google doc and put all of my course work responses and replies to others in the doc to make the copy and paste into the course work completion forms easier/quicker to complete. I also took notes so that when I'm doing my practical components I can look back at them later to make sure I'm incorporating everything that I need to. I did my coursework quickly so that I have more time to work on the practical components because at the moment I have a lot more free time, but will be starting a new full time job on the 17th, so I know that I won't be able to commit AS MUCH time then, so wanted to get a head start since I don't know how busy things will be after that.

I've got a whole folder in my google drive dedicated to CDM where I have a document for CDM resources, I have an articles notes document, I saved a copy of the requirements for easy access, my coursework document, a growth path document, and time management course notes document (my electives I've chosen. I think the organization of my stuff has been extremely helpful!

I also reached out to someone who is fairly close in progress with me to sort of work as study buddies to bounce ideas and get feedback on some of the work required. I usually do things independently, but doing my best on the content creation is really important to me and I know my mind can be great and brilliant, but also having another great and brilliant mind provide feedback may help optimize quality, and I'm hoping to be a similar person for them.

@ouiCherie

This is my first progress report for CDM, week one was amazing. The last discussion I completed was Content Categories and Topics of Interest at 7 Cups, and I'm almost done with the Getting Ready to Write: Topic Selection. I am very happy with how this first week went. I think the first things that went well are that I took time to organize myself and set some expectations around the goals of my experience with this program. My goals are; to increase my time management skills, become more familiar with CDM, and continue fostering its values and mission. As I spent time initially setting clear expectations I'm confident that the rest of the program will go smoothly. I organized my coursework by turning the CDM requirements document into my checklist. I think it's essential to visually see the checked-off requirements as it helps me manage the work I have yet to complete. Organizing this document to hold a record of all my work also allows me to find said work when it comes time to file the program's reports. Overall, I enjoyed the Coursework Part I and am looking forward to putting in some time on the electives. 😊
