Hi CDM Trainees,

This thread serves as progress reports for CDM Program.

We would love to hear how you are doing!

Each week, we would like you to reply to this thread answering the following three questions:

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed?
  2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
  3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

If you require support, please let us know and we'll reach out to you.

@ouiCherie

* Which discussion was the last you completed?

Day 1: I finished 1-5 in one day, yey! :D

* What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?

As mentioned in the orientation, I'm a mood-based learner. While it's not necessarily a big deal as I can finish everything I'm supposed to on or before the deadline still, I feel unproductive sometimes.

* What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

Make time for it and make sure you're working in a space that you're comfortable with. Writing is an art and as a writer, you're an artist. Those aren't just words, those are parts of you being expressed on paper (or Google Docs or Microsoft Word or wherever you were typing). So make sure you have everything you need before you dive into the assignments :)

As for me, I need some munchies, hot chocolate, epic music, and really soft space to sit in on <3

@CosmicMiracle

1 to 5 in a day! That's pretty cool, Cosmic πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ and it's a good strategy to go fast in 1 to 4. Because after that you may take more time to let informations sink, and another more time in writing stage hehe...

I can relate to the 'mood-based' learner and perhaps a classic struggle of creative minds xD no worries, just kindly let us know if you ever need an extension 🀍

The tip is lit! May I tweet this part?

"Writing is an art and as a writer, you're an artist. Those aren't just words, those are parts of you being expressed on paper." - 7cups.com/@CosmicMiracle ? πŸ˜€πŸ™πŸ»

Thanks for the check-in and all the best!

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed? Completed the first 4 discussions. Last discussion completed is "Team Lightship: Tweeting Empathy"
  2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around? - Was not knowing that responses to other students needs to be saved as well which is required while filling the trial completion form so spent lot of time in searching those responses.
  3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others. - I am learning and seeing various contents by other students which is providing good exposure .

@NotFound20

Yay! Well done for finishing the first part of the program! ⭐️😊

Ah... okay. Yes, true it can be a task itself if we have to find our work in forum. Kindly note, there will be another report for part II and Last Step form to mark your completion of all coursework. I'll find a way to put a note about it. Thank you for pointing that out, Found πŸ‘

If anyone has the same problem, there are 2 options:

  1. Archive your works (incl. your feedback for peers) so you can just copy paste it later. I chose this (I archived all in a folder on Google drive).
  2. You can find your work faster by command/ control + F on the discussion page and find your name.

Just incase you haven't taken other programs, this applied for all 7 Cups Academy programs.

And for anyone come across this post, Found and others shared some great tips on this thread,

Thanks for the check-in Found!

1. Which discussion was the last you completed?

- My last discussion was the Week 1 introduction forum, I'm currently working on my response for week 2. I have a quote that I'm excited to share, this exercise helps me think more creatively especially with incorporating key words

2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?

- My only struggle was calming down my excitement, and channeling that energy into being more creative and attentive to what the next discussion post asked for instead of rushing to participate and reply. Quality is key to me

3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

- Being accepted is what went well overall :3 Absolute highlight of my week

Hello hello, checking in for week 2!

1. Which discussion was the last you completed?

- D5, D6 is in progress

What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?

- I struggled with letting myself relax and let my creativity flow through me when creating ideas for the D6 content

What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

- I quickly recognized that what I was experiencing anxiety, however not out of fear. Out of excitement to be here and to be doing this for myself, my future, and to the people that our compassionate content will reach. It helped the most that within my anxiety, I identified which emotion it was connected to πŸ’™

I wish my fellow Trainees and our Leaders the best, this week and forward! "May the Light be with you"

The last discussion I completed was Community Questions and Answers: The Basis of Mental Health Awareness and Support, which I really enjoyed!

One thing I didn't get the first time round was the weekly progress reports actually, haha. I wasn't sure whether we were supposed to check in on this thread, on the google form, or both?

I think one thing that went well this week was the activity in the Community Questions and Answers: The Basis of Mental Health Awareness and Support discussion, because I got in far more keywords than I expected to.

@ouiCherie

Greetings,

I have fallen a bit behind. Our family fell ill, and I am playing catch up. The last assignment I completed was the Community Question and Response. This is step 2.

I look forward to creating my graphic for a quote, and I enjoyed reading all of the creative quotes of my fellow classmates. I saw some great work!! I am learning a lot from reading how others approach the assignments. The sharing of information has been so valuable.

I will have to pace myself moving forward and read through all the instructions, so I do not miss specific instructions. I am looking forward to a more productive week!

Thank you @sweetOcean1415 for the check in. Sending healing beams your way and praying for you and family 🀍

That is a great approach to see some examples from previous works ⭐️

Kindly remember to submit Trial Completion form to change your status from in-trial to active.

Progress at your own pace is great. And you can always submit Extension Request form if needed. 🀍

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed?

Discussion 4. I couldn't complete the discussions after this, as it got too busy

  1. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?

Keeping up the momentum that I first had with the program, because of my unexpected busy offline

  1. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.

My new realistic system of time blocking so that I can catch up to the discussions that I couldn't this week and to not be hard on myself :)

Thank you for the check in @blissfulForest7074 🀍

No worries, your trial completion has been processed, so your status is already active.

Your next form to submit (when you already have time) is Coursework Completion Quiz to mark the finished of Part I.

Although we set initial schedule, the program is self-paced after 2-week trial completion 😊

A gentle note, your program is scheduled to end on 9/5/2022, but you can always request for extension when needed in the future.

Ahh, I've made it to week 3 😌 This has been truly rewarding, it's helped slowly reel my repressed creativity out in both writing and graphic design

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed? - D12, currently working on my graphic design for D13 :D
  2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around? - I honestly just need to calm down lol enthusiasm is fine, being overly excited is the problem. If I can remember to calm down and read the assignment thoroughly, it wouldn't put so much pressure on completing it. The instructions are very clear and quite simple
  3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others. - I learn professional skills from our assignments, the way I prioritize and make sure I've thoroughly reviewed the instructions has helped me in my personal life as well. It's like the 7 cups techniques and study tips are multi-applicable (I hope that's a word πŸ˜…)

Forgot to mention, I had my CDM Article topic approved over the past weekend, so I'll be working to complete the actual article by this weekend

@SirenOfSerenity

Yippiie! Well done for reaching article stage!

From your updates, I'm pretty sure you remember this, but I'll post a gentle reminder for anyone who come across this post. Please reread this Article Outlining lesson an example for simple outline (you can adjust and develop it further):

  • A brief intro about what is the topic
  • An issue about the topic that you'd like to focus on
  • Tips to overcome it
  • Get started with 7 Cups (available resources that can be used for the issue)

You can flesh them out one at a time. Don't mind about bridging between sub-headlines in the writing process, you can do it later. Intro also can be done the last.

You can PM @Izzy274 for brainstorming ideas and guidance. Izzy will be the one who check and approve this work.

I'm at Academy Hub every Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM ET. We can work it together during the session as well.

PS: thanks to @SoulfullyAButterfly for tons of exercises on this in Content Team. πŸ˜€
