CDM Progress Report
Hi CDM Trainees,
This thread serves as progress reports for CDM Program.
We would love to hear how you are doing!
Each week, we would like you to reply to this thread answering the following three questions:
- Which discussion was the last you completed?
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
If you require support, please let us know and we'll reach out to you.
I'm not happy about it but had to extend the course for health reasons. But the only thing left to do is finish my article. My advice after the situation yesterday is to be very appreciative of the important things.
@ThoughtLight
Got to prioritize. No judgment here ! Glad you are sticking with it. Best of luck on your article and let me or another mentor know if you need any help.
@walkalot thank you. Working on it will be a nice distraction. Secured a professional quote.
@ouiCherie
Hello, @brightDayFairy
Congratulations for completing Coursework I. 💙
Good to hear you got used to the layout of the course. You did well!
I'm glad you're able to create your own structure with the guidance through each topic. I'm happy you find the interaction part enjoyable, too. 😊
@SilverSeastar thank you so much :)
@ouiCherie
Hi, @brightDayFairy
Great work for making it to Discussion 5. 💙
Yay, good to hear you find the discussions under each post helpful! 😊
Well, I have completed everything except for the article which is nearing completion. Had to first ask for an extension for my own health then one due to a family emergency. I would say I struggled the most with making graphics. I had never done anything like it before and was just hoping I wouldn't need it again. But after playing around with the program and getting a feel at it I became skilled enough to do graphics as one of my practical electives. I actually really enjoy doing what I had at one point loathed. Enough to keep a monthly subscription for the small fee. Two pieces of advice don't give up on something just because you don't get it the first time or even few. It can turn out to be something that you love. Just take the time to play around with a program or explore in your free time. Another piece of advice that's good to know is always remember that in life there is always the "X" factor. It is an unpredictable variable that can decide to factor in at the most unexpected of times. But it doesn't mean you have to give everything up. You just need to work out a new strategy that will still achieve the same goal. And never be afraid to ask for help. You will find that there are kind and understanding people glad to help if you just ask. You don't have to do anything alone. A little self-advocating can open many doors you may not have ever discovered were even there. There is a very old saying that goes "Ask and ye shall receive."
Hi, @ThoughtLight
Happy writing your article. 💙 You're almost done!
I'm glad you put yourself first and asked for an extension. Sending a lot of love and warm thoughts your way. I hope you and your family are okay.
It's amazing to hear your journey with making graphics. So good to hear you came around to enjoy it. You're right; don't let the learning curve discourage you from learning something that can become something you love.
I agree again about the X factor. I really admire you for managing to work out a new strategy that will still achieve the same goal. For sure, don't hesitate to ask for support because you are not alone. 😊
Thank you for being awesome!
@SilverSeastar you are always amazingly uplifting to hear from. And I need it now more than I ever have in my entire life. I'm boggled about the graphics as well. I got really good at it. It's worth the $9.99 a month. It has become a bit of a stress reliever. I would love to be able to finish this course with the honors option. I just need to see what the options are and if I can devote the energy. There can be multiple solutions resulting in the same outcome. You just need to think creatively. If time is an issue use the 5 minutes of free time here and there. Every little bit works at the bigger picture. Albert Einstein would just randomly think of something scribble it out scrap paper and shove it in his pocket all the time. Then they all added up to something Brilliant like he always figured out. My life has led me to see everything in steps and not a clean whole picture. But instead, a whole complete picture that is made up of pieces. Like collage art. Just a lot of steps to create a whole complete picture. Like the broken east Asian vases that are pieced back together with gold making it more valuable that when it was just one complete vase. Showing the world for centuries that there is beauty in imperfection. So, I make the end project perfect. But nobody knows all the small steps and pieces here and there that get added together for the end piece. It makes for a better piece because you couldn't miss a single detail going about it that way. But to me the real beauty in life it's visible to the naked eye. Your heart's eye sees the real beauty.
@ThoughtLight
Aww, I'm glad you experience me that way. 💙 You absolutely deserve support, especially when you're struggling.
Stress relieving through creating graphics is awesome! I can tell you definitely got skilled with it. Sounds like it is worth the price, indeed. 😊
You can find the honours options here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/content/CDMAnnouncementsandUpdates_2194/CDMProgramGraduatingwithHonors_245418/
Those are some beautiful, deep reflections you shared! You are incredibly wise. I couldn't agree more; the bigger picture is always made up of smaller pieces, and there is beauty in every step of the process.
@ouiCherie
Last week, I couldn't do much. Hopefully, this week I'm getting back to track
Hello, @MarwaneB
No worries at all; your well-being comes first. 💙 Looks like you got back on track amazingly. Yayy, you should be proud! 🌟
@ouiCherie
- Which discussion was the last you completed? Lesson 2
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around? Everything was pretty simple, (: I just need to do better
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others. I take physical notes as well as digital :0
Hi, @Bunnylovesyou
Good work on completing discussion 2!
I'm sure you did your bestt. 💙
Absolutely, taking notes is helpful for this programme. Thank you for sharing this tip.
Have submitted my article. The research and writing were refreshing my own skill set. I'm very glad I managed to get a hold of a medical provider I used to see. A struggle would have to be adjusting to a much shorter format than I'm used to. And dealing with a traumatic situation and focusing on my writing currently. The best advice I would give this week is to really take your time and be detailed with the article outline. It makes writing the actual article quick and easy.
Hi, @ThoughtLight
Congratulations on finishing your article; that is awesome! 🌟 Thank you for putting in so much effort and thought into your writing.
Adjusting to a much shorter format can add to the challenge, for sure. On top of that, a traumatic situation is not easy to cope with. I hope you can go through the process well. 💙
This is another good tip from you; thank you for sharing! A well-made article outline makes the writing process much less overwhelming.
@SilverSeastar thank you! I look forward to writing future articles.
@ouiCherie
So far I have completed the first 12 discussion. For this week, I am planning to finish the last one, do the quizz and start writing my first article.
Hi, @MarwaneB
Well done for making it through 12 discussions! You're almost done with the coursework portion. 🙌
This sounds like a great plan. All the best to youu! 💙
Thank you so much @SilverSeastar for your encouragement and nice words! Wish you the best, too! :)
@ouiCherie Hello, I boarded the course on the 4th of March and received my acceptance mail on the 3rd of March, so I prepared most of my answers to discussions beforehand on the 3rd of March so now:
- Within 1st day of my course, I finished the 1st part of the discussions.
- Filled out and submitted my Trial form.
- Now I'm working towards finishing the 2nd part of the course.
- I'm considering the honors option and for that, I've reached out to a mentor as well, along with getting help from @SoulfullyAButterfly.
A tip that I would like to share is that as soon as they get their acceptance mail and get access to their coursework contents, I'll suggest they install Grammarly on their devices and that they take a few hours of their day to brainstorm and start preparing their answers for each discussions and save them in a docs file along with their Coursework content document to avoid last minute form filling hassles and this method cuts the work in half which then allows them to graduate earlier without tiring themselves out.
- Finished and submitted course work part 2 form.
- Submitted article submission form.
- Submitted Further Practical Experience form.
- Waiting to Responses and Honors Project
Hello, @ThoughtsBubbleExpress
Thank you for your hard work and for being so prompt! Wow, you're really going fast. 🌟
Thank you for the helpful and thorough tip as well! 💙 Preparing beforehand is great. I also love to use Grammarly to proofread my work!
All the best on your journey through this programme. I hope you enjoy the process.
@SilverSeastar Thank you, I want to finish this course in maximum 2 weeks, I've got my article as a part of practicum approved too :)
Another week has passed and well all I did was my trial submission form that I missed because I was extremely ill. Its cookie season and I just have 0 time ): ill probably do a good chunk of work today
@Bunnylovesyou
Good job, Bunny. Keep it up. Don't worry about the pacing. Just try to keep making gradual progress
