Hi CDM Trainees,
This thread serves as progress reports for CDM Program.
We would love to hear how you are doing!
Each week, we would like you to reply to this thread answering the following three questions:
- Which discussion was the last you completed?
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
If you require support, please let us know and we'll reach out to you.

Amazing Caring! So proud of you! 💐

Week 1:

Discussion 2
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I was overthinking the assignment for the second discussion and then I finally decided enough of thinking and just sat down and started writing. Once I did that , the words and thoughts just flowed and I no longer felt overwhelmed.

I attended one orientation and one check in session and that really helped. I would recommend newbies to take advantage of these sessions.

Week 6: so I finished everything and I'm working on my project for honors with my mentors. Submitted the last form and just all the last stuff to start the project announcement :3

WEEK 6 :
Which discussion was the last you completed? - I completed Discussion 13, and after that, I sent my Topic Approval form and Coursework 2 Quiz. I can't remember any more forms I filled, but I'm sure that I'm up to date with the deadlines and form submissions according to the guides.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around? - I think I always take more time to complete tasks or discussions than I expect, but I guess this is true for all. Our judgement of time isn't always same as the time we actually take. Or is it just me? 😛 Anyways, another thing I struggled with, was to write a good headline. After feedback of my topic, I realised that it wasn't so easy. There are other factors like SEO, Readability, Sentiment, etc. which must all be considered 💛
What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others - Whenever I had to do a task that required research, I did my research and final write-up quicker than a few weeks ago. Previously, if it took me 2 hours to do a writing task, now I can do it within an hour, while maintaining good quality. I think what's necessary here, is to practice writing. Practice it so much that you'll get really good at it 😊 Another thing that I've always enjoyed is creating graphics. To get better at that, you could check social media posts from accounts that have a high number of followers or observe existing templates in Canva and other similar sites, and instead of using those exact same templates, take inspiration from them and create something new 🌻

- Trial form submitted
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I struggled with Discussion 3. Finally got the hang of it. Tried a few different programs and found one which worked for me.
It will be awesome if you could add the link to QR scan code and 7cups logo to the discussion 3 post.
Also struggled a little with pasting the graphic if using phone. Found the answer by @BloodthirstyBat (post date: 23rd July, 2020) in the posts under the link provided . Again if the post can be revised and these instructions added to the main post that will be extremely helpful.

Enjoyed creating the tweets. Did it for the first time, learned a lot about hashtags.
Tips:
- Contact a mentor to get logo and QR Scan codes if you would like to paste it in your graphics
- Try out a few different graphic programs, not all are as user friendly. Choose one which suits you.
- Use an online word/ character counter to keep your tweets within character range which is 280 characters
@Healthylistener0123
Hi Healthylistener0123,
I am Train from the Topic title approval team.
I am just looking at your title and it is a bit too long. It should be 5 to 7 words.
See if you can shorten it first and then we can work on the topic.
@VioletFields003
Hi VioletFields003
I am Train from the Topic title approval team.
You have a great article title. It has a good overall headline score.
Have a look in 7 cups to see if your desired content will be different from what we already have in 7 cups.
Just google 7 cups articles on sleep and it will come up.
If you plan on writing something different then I can approve your title.
Let me know how you go.
@ouiCherie
I am late for my first week's report. I did nothing unfortunately until now.
But now, I am at discussion number 4, about to start with it.
Which discussion was the last one you completed?
Team Lightship / Tweeting empathy
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I didn't get all of the requirements of discussion 2 - designing social media post

Everything went well. Read everything carefully, and follow the instructions.
Week 1 completed.

3) Social Media Graphics: Promoting Site Content.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right for the first time around?
2) Community Questions and Answers: The Basis of Mental Health Awareness and Support.
I'm still a bit confused about the best maximum of words with 30 keywords. The example provided is a maximum of 100 words with 15 keywords. Does that mean that it's better to have a maximum of 200 words with 30 keywords? From my previous learning with SEO (where keywords are input in the CMS of a website using SEO plugins), it's a lot better to not do keyword stuffing. So, I did 400 words with 30 keywords instead. It will be helpful if the forum post contains what's the best maximum of words in line with how many keywords do we have and how to implement them. Providing an example with the keywords underlined will also be helpful as an overview of how it's implemented.

Overall, everything is good. Some tips would be to reach out to your mentor and share all your feelings, struggle, or what you like about the program. No worries, your mentor will be here to guide you.
