CDM Progress Report
Hi CDM Trainees,
This thread serves as progress reports for CDM Program.
We would love to hear how you are doing!
Each week, we would like you to reply to this thread answering the following three questions:
- Which discussion was the last you completed?
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
If you require support, please let us know and we'll reach out to you.
@ouiCherie
Week 4:
I just finished my time management elective, and I have emailed to start an honers program idea for a project with autism and an artist showcase. I am about to start my first rough draft of my article today and brainstorm a growth path related to art therapy/anime (hopeful I can think of something ^3^). I will hopefully get my last check-in for the chats and make sure I did not miss anything before graduation. oh, I also finished my course work homework.
Day 2 check-in, mostly cause I can't really do much more until I hear back on whether or not my article topic is approved. I've done everything under CP1 and CP2. Have a rough draft for the article topic if approved. Will take a peak at other electives when I have the chance.
For others who may be new trainees and reading this. Please don't compare yourself to me. I've taken this course once in the sept of 2021. I didn't get the chance to finish it because real life things came up. So I'm basically copy pasting what I've done in the past to finish this program. Take things at your own pace.
Okay, first of all, shout out @ouiCherie for being patient with me and answering the questions I have.
End of the first-week progress update. Basically, all the coursework is done. The article topic is approved, submitted the article for approval, waiting to hear back on this front. And I did the time management growth path as an elective, submitted that quiz should hear back in a week or so on whether or not I passed.
I haven't decided on my second elective just yet. I would love to write another article, however with midterms just around the corner, I'm not sure how much time I can dedicate to it. Plus I would love to see the feedback from my first article before starting the second one. I already have a topic in mind if I was writing an article for my second article though.
@ouiCherie
- Which discussion was the last you completed? relearning my STL role
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around everything
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
I completed the Growth Path I was working on. I probably could have done more, but it was 20 steps already and I felt like I was at a decent place to wrap up. I spent a lot of time on it. I think I started it in week 2 and I think I'm starting week 5.
I tried to do the further practical experience form, but the list of electives I was given is more than the options it gives. In my list it said I could do the time management course, and so I completed that and got the badge for it, so I'm not sure who reviews the forms, but I need to make sure they realize I did both components, it just didn't give an option to select the "Time Management Course" on the participation form.
I also submitted my article two weeks ago and haven't heard anything either way as far as being accepted or needing to redo it. I'm hoping it's been accepted.
I believe I have completed all of the requirements. I'm contemplating doing honors, but not sure if I really have time in my schedule.
@InvaderStitch
That sounds awesome! I would love to try your path growth.
@ouiCherie
Week 5: I submit my article and waiting on that if it needs some improvements. I got my electives done. Waiting on the honor project to be approved and just working on a growth path.
@Vivikun9
Hi Vivi, have you received any feedback now?
What's your honor project?
@ouiCherie
I got my article feedback but I have not heard anything on my project :<
@ouiCherie
I have been in communication with my mentors for the honours assignment. I am struggling with the long delay in waiting for my article submission feedback along with the long delays in mentors getting back to me on my honours project. I also was late on this submission because I had hoped that there was something more substantial by now that I could put in this weekly progress report. Just waiting is hard for me as an ADHD person. I know patience will pay off, however, these delays are impacting my acceptance into the next program.
@broadfemmelovelive @Vivikun9 I saw both your honor projects have been received and processed by @aliothwyou
Broadfemme's article have been approved and Vivi's article is processed by @SilentOfSerenity
Thank you for the patience everyone 😊🩶
@ouiCherie
Thank you for the update and im working a drawing graphic for the article
@Vivikun9
Sounds great, Vivi! ✨️ this rectangle size like in this article works best for 7 Cups article page. All the best!
@ouiCherie
Week 7:Final Progress Report.
I heard back that my article was approved, very grateful for that. I went ahead and submitted my last steps and final form. I am so grateful for this educational experience. I want to send thanks to all the CDM mentors, especially @ouiCherie, @SilentOfSerenity and @aliothwyou. I know going forward what my challenges are. This was a great opportunity for me not only to learn about CDM but also to improve my time management skills. Thanks again to all my fellow program participants who made this very memorable for me.
@broadfemmelovelive
Great work!
Week 7?:
I submitted my final step and forms that I have completed all of my work. Still waiting to hear if all of my work has been officially approved, but I feel good about it and pretty confident there shouldn't be any issues.
I really enjoyed the CDM Program and it definitely reignited my passion for writing!
Yeah! congratulations @InvaderStitch
