Job Interview Feedback

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting here so nice to meet you all.

I've been applying for several positions in the past couple months after being laid off in a very unprofessional way and so far I've got nothing.

I had a job offer popping up a month or so ago but it was a very shady one where they insisted I must commute to their office every day which would mean a 2/3 hour ride there and honestly that's not feasible - I won't spend up to 4/6 hours of my day commuting.

Last week on Wednesday I got a final interview of a set of 5 ones and was expecting to hear some positive feedback a week or so after that but it didn't happen.

Actually, nothing happened, I emailed the HR team yesterday (past a week) and so far (more than 24 hours afterwards) heard nothing. I've also sent a thank you email right after the interview and didn't hear back which wasn't uncommon given it didn't happen the previous times.

Does this mean they don't want me? That I am being rejected and should just quit?

The uncertainty is really stressing me out and I can't understand why one would not just spend five minutes sending an email even if it's to say there's no updates...

Thank you all once again

@Blossom92

I feel many people in HR and hiring simply do not know how to respond even if a simple we went another way. It is very easy to get discouraged in a job hunt so many simply do not even acknowledge they received your application or resume.   Hopefully you will have a breakthrough soon.

I will say it is a double edged sword as at my current employer the person whom hired me told me he had 4 interviews set up and confirmed a week before mine and NO one showed up.  The employee I was replacing literally called out  every Monday and Tuesday ...

it is a good job not that hard but person needs to show up.   People like this makes anyone look like well they seem ok in interview but what will happen when hired.

Maybe employers facing SOME not all horrible job candidates ...do not feel like keeping up the polite responses.
