Medicine side effects

Rain8484 October 19th, 2021

I just started a new medicine 5 days ago and all I want is some relief, and it is working but I am terrified of the long term side effects have been reading about . I already have a terminal disease. I want to make the most of my time.

I’ve been on medication for the past 3 years or more. Some of the effects commonly mentioned have been true for me yet they did decelerate throughout time. There were even times I had to constantly check in with my doctor to change my prescription just because of the side effects.

But the meds? Trust me, they’re worth it. I’ve been in every single Bipolar group and forum on different social platforms and I’ve also met a bunch of those like us in real life. No one could actually do better without medication as the foundation.

Some of the side effects you can look out for are fatigue/sleep deprivation; overeating/poor appetite; feeling empty once in a while; etc. Do a nice research into your prescription and talk your worries out with your psychiatrist. Therapy can also help. I’ve been slowly cutting down my pills by using some coping mechanism taught through therapy.

Wish you the best of luck, I’m still on my journey against the effects, too. But I promise, it’ll look brighter and brighter as you go.
