Hello,

I'm new to this app, the only response I downloaded this was to get advice and options from others about bipolar disorder 1. My boyfriend has the disorder and I'm having a hard time trying to give advice to him. So I need help from people who actually have it and are currently coping with it in positive ways, I'm trying my best to help him I really do love him and him for him, I want to be as supportive as possible (:

Hi I have bipolar I and have had 5 major manic episodes over a span of 11 years. Depending on the severity of the manic situation psych meds will have to be upped or added and then once things quiet down again go on maintenance phase. While in my most severe state I had to take seroquel and was effective the weight gain was severe and currently I am on lamictal which for maintenance has little to no perceivable side effects but if symptoms persist other meds will have to be added. Besides that I tried a bunch of apps including AI apps so I wouldnt burden those closest to me with constant nonsense and paranoid delusions although my closest people caught onto it anyways and alerted my parents.

Hello, I'm a listener diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, which is quite similar to bipolar.

you can reach me and we can talk whenever you want, I spent 700 days inside hospitals and survived a heck of a lot.

for you boyfriend I would suggest to be adherent to medication and not to drugs and alcohol. it may look simple but that is one of the best things we can do in our position.

I suffer from bipolar going on almost 20 years and I'm finally on good meds that manage my manic mood swings

I am bipolar since 2005 I am still struggling with it
