What is that one thing you wish your loved ones or others knew about Bipolar Disorder?

I wish others could understand how challenging every day is when living well. For recovery to be sustained requires hard work - it may look like it is all good now but believe me I am constantly treading water.

I understand everyday is a challenge and the path to recovery is not a straight line. And true one day at a time is all we have! Keep going, even taking simple small steps matters and we're all here to support each other in this journey!

I wish they understood that sometimes I feel absolutely nothing and it's not because I don't love them.

Yes it's very important that our loved ones understand that sometimes we feel absolutely nothing and it's not because we don't love them.

I wish they knew that when I have a few good weeks, or months, it doesn't mean I am "cured." I can manage the disorder, but it's always going to be lurking.

That's a very important point. When it comes to any mental illness, recovery is possible but so is relapse. It is an on going battle but with right support and treatment, it can be managed.

And while everyone else can take a break from dealing with my condition - I experience the reality 24/7

@calmSun91

You're totally right! It is a constant struggle for the person suffering though people around can offer their support.
