Crisis Plan?

humorousCup9733 October 11th, 2022

Hi everyone,

I've heard having a crisis plan is important in case I would ever end up in a mental state where I can't make decisions for myself. Within the last few weeks, I have gotten paranoid a couple of times so I am thinking about making a plan in case I would ever become so manic, or depressed, that I cannot make my own decisions. Does anyone have resources to help with this (I have no idea where to start)?

Also, are medical ID bracelets recommended for people diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in case one would end up in a state where they cannot tell first responders they are Bipolar and are on meds for it?

Hello!

I think having a crisis plan is a great way to be prepared in case of the chance of not being able to make decisions for yourself.

Here are some resources that may be helpful: A simple safety plan for recording your personal crisis warning signs, what you can do to stay safe, and who can help during this time

Also, yes! Bipolar disorder medical ID bracelets are a thing! Here is some more information on Bipolar Disorder Medical ID Bracelets. Hope this helps! I appreciate you making the effort to plan ahead just in case!💛💫
