Bipolar disorder and work

Currently, the stress level of my job (and life in general) is really impacting my mental health. I ended up becoming mildly manic for about a week. Things seem to be getting better after a med change, but I am still extremely irritable. In all of this, my depression has also gotten worse which is making it harder to get things done so then the stress cycle continues. I met with my psychiatrist twice in two weeks but might not be able to see my counselor for a few weeks yet…What do people do when work is clearly impacting your mental health and/or when the people you would typically lean on are unavailable?

Thank you for sharing! I’m sorry it took so long to get on disability. It’s to bad that had to be such a long process…

I’m trying to figure this out as well. I’m currently changing my support team to people who are more available and responsive (hopefully). I’m sorry you’re also struggling.

I hope you are able to find the support team you need and as soon as you need it!! Thankfully, my counselor and psychiatrist are usually pretty available-it just happened to be they are both out of town around the same time…oh well I guess. I just with I could lean on my friends more with this…I don’t have anyone I can call-in the moment-if things are getting bad.

yes, I am also sorry that you are struggling. But, I’m grateful we can support each other in our struggles!
