Hi I have such bad anxiety about driving I need to get my license before my permit expires this year and I'm completely terrified I just dont think I can do it, thinking about it gives me panic attacks and attempting gives me anxiety, I just cant do it and i feel stuck, my parents dont think it's real either and driving is no deal to them. My anxiety is holding me back on so much it causes me to panick and I dont think my parents want me to be on meds so this anxiety is killing me i just dont know what to do in general for things like this. Please help give advice or encouragement anything I can try to do to calm down or not have this bad anxiety

I have a fear of driving too, so I definitely relate. It might help to figure out what about it scares you, what you can do about those things, and what is out of your control. Also, remember anxiety is not reality.

Practice practice practice tell yourself everytime u drive 'this is not scary this is not scary.' Hopefully your brain will pick up on this and stop being scared. Then smile and laugh a bit so your mind starts thinking positivity. Maybe everytime before u start learning put on some music for 2 minutes to cheer yourself up so when ever u go for a lesson your mind will think it will be fun!!! Try it, I'd be intrigued if it worked!!

U dont need meds for anxiety of driving u just need to re wire your brain to think differently!

I have anxiety driving as well. I took driving classes with an instructor before I went for my license. Deep breaths, and tell yourself that you are in control. Your parents are probably used to driving, which is why they feel how they feel. You can do this. You can master your anixety.
