Social Anxiety

I think my social anxiety is connected to events that happened in my childhood.

I was reading about connecting to our inner child.

Has anyone done this inner child work in therapy? If yes, how it helped you? Any tips?

@mary31 Hello, I have not actually done inner child work, but a counselor said to me once, "be the person you needed when you were a child." I guess we have to somehow heal our inner child and be our own hero. It all goes back to our core values and beliefs, how we view the world and think the world views us. I personally think that the biggest obstacle to overcome is feeling inadequate. Like we are somehow not as worthy of love, or acceptance, success, and so on. We are all worthy, each and every one of us! It is ok to be selfish at times and to think of you and what you need, I am really curious about the inner child work, really interesting topic!

So I am! Hopefully, if our child feel loved we will too and then...anxiety could start go away somehow or get lower. Loved your reflection, thanks ;)
