SSRI and Sleep

I increased my medication dose a few weeks ago. It helps me a lot get things done, but it disrupted my sleep. I’ve been sleeping up to 16 hours a day. It’s not easy to fall asleep, but once I fall, it’s hard to get up. It really bothers me.

Anyone has been through something like this? How did ypu deal with it?

@Mshadows

Hi, I'm sorry you are having sleep troubles. I have definitely had experience with that as well. Maybe it will balance out once you've been on the increased dosage longer? Have you tried herbal remedies like melatonin or cbd oil? (ask your doctor if you can use one of these to help with sleep) Also caffeine intake can make your sleep routine difficult as well. Try going to bed at the same time every night-

Sometimes what helps me is putting something boring/calming on tv like Bob Ross for example, or reading a book when I can't sleep helps!

I hope this helps! Hang in there!!
