Past relationship
I'll see my ex after a year in a really important event that I'll travel to... I thought this subject was simply ok to deal, but now I'm shaking and crying. Really disappointed to myself
@hs94 I'm sorry you're feeling this way; I wish you were not so hard on yourself. Obviously whatever happened in the relationship or the way it ended (or both) have left a very deep impact, and you are only human.
Have you ever checked out the Self-Help Guides or the Mindfulness Exercises on 7 Cups? There is a Self-Help Guide that covers getting through break-ups, and the Mindfulness Exercises, essentially short guided meditation recordings, could be worth a try to see if some regular meditation helps calm your nerves.
The other thing that I find helpful in advance of an event or situation that I know I will find stressful is preparation. So, if I know I am going to be in a social situation where I will be nervous, I actually try to put together talking points and prepare what I will say and do in order to calm myself before the event, and usually this helps me manage my anxiety somewhat.
