My first panic attack and what inspired me to become a listener :)

This is my story about my first panic attack and what inspired me to become a listener and help others.

I had been a regular at a restaurant for a few months because I go there a few times a week to do my homework and eat after school. So because of this, the whole restaurant basically knows who I am. However, there is this waitress always waves at me and says hi, lets call her G.

So one particular day I was there doing my homework and asked to order. G was sitting on a different table as it was her lunch break and another waitress came up to me. I was standing up as I was getting something out of my bag and thats when she came over and asked what I would like to order. Suddenly the room started spinning, I could barely hear her like she was zoning out, I could hear my heart pounding and I could feel myself shaking. I felt so hot and I looked up to where G was sitting and she looked at me in concern. Afterwards the waitress taking my order went away and I didnt know what to do, I was freaking out. (This was my first panic attack and I had no clue to what was going on). I was going through the water so fast and without thinking went up to G and I tried to speak but all that came out was umm, err, no, wait, umm

G immediately stood up, held my hand, got my water and said Panic attack?, I was like umm, I dont know?. Then she let me outside whilst whispering in my ear, Dont worry I have them too. After that she was outside with me instead of her shift and started awn hour later so she could help me stop shaking and thinking I was going to die. She held my hand and clapped my hands with me to stop shaking and made me laugh to distract myself. Since then I have had 4 panic attacks there and she has helped me through each one of them and we hug every time we see each other. This is why I have become a listener and this is why I want to help people, because of how she at first barely knew me but still helped me through tough times. And now because of her, instead of getting panic attacks everyday, I only get them once or twice a month.

I hope this inspires you to help others like it did for me :)
