Morning anxiety
I have serious morning anxiety .It usually begins when I wake up .I used to take ativan for that but it makes me super sleepy .
If I can pull myself through the morning ,i usually end up having a good day .But it is really really difficult when you wake up in a bad mood .
Anyone else on the same boat ?
@lovelySpring74
Hum it must be some trigger there, either in the actual morning or the previous night that drags to the next morning.
Don't worry many people have this!
Indeed medicine isn't the best since the majority have that side effect you mentioned. My advice here is to really realise the possible triggers. What about writing down all your thoughts? Every tiny one, just write down.
At the end of the day read them and see which ones cause you anxiety.
It might help :)
@lovelySpring74 I feel your pain. I wake up most mornings (a few hours before the alarm unfortunately) with constant thoughts of how bad the day could go. I can't seem to shut if off most days. Someone suggested to me yesterday on a different thread a few ideas and they seem to be helping if even a little.
One was a story about a man who went home and before going in went over to a tree and touched the branch before moving along. When asked what it was all about, he said that it was his worry tree. That he would hang his worries on it and not take them inside with him and if they were still there the next morning, he would pick them back up and continue on with his day. Since the issues I've experienced (and I'm not sure if it's the same as yours but maybe it'll help) are things I seem to carry with me that show up most for some reason in the stillness of early morning, the conscious effort to leave them outside seems like it could help. Could this be something you might benefit from?
Can you say what puts you in the bad mood in the morning?
@lovelySpring74
I definitely know what you mean. Sometimes I feel really anxious in the morning because I am overwhelmed by the idea of getting through the whole day. Sometimes I worry that something bad or disappointing will happen, and it will end up being a bad day. This may not be the case for you, but you are definitely not alone. Maybe talking to a professional & asking for their guidance on this would help? Perhaps something is causing you to feel this way. Take care!
@lovelySpring74 I am really sorry you are going throw this.
Here are some exersices that could help you overcome the anxiety.
1. Try walking and walking up early
2. try smiling at the mirror and singing to some song you like
3 listen to music
4 you can get some amulet or some thing you can carry with you like a charm talisman , it will help you to distract yourself if you play with it.
5 try to listen to podcasts.
6 smile in front of the mirror and tell yourself this is gonna be an awesome possum day
7 reward yourself at the end of the day with cookies :)
