Health anxiety
I suffer health anxiety all the time. Currently I think I have kidney disease. This anxiety is causing my blood pressure to skyrocket.
Hello. Sorry to hear of your anxieties. I know it can be really hard to deal with it. (I'm assuming these are anxieties, if you have actual medical issues you should seek a qualified doctors guidance.) So there have been times where I thought something was medically wrong and I went to the doctor and it turned out everything was completely normal. I was wrong. I had been wrong. It's interesting if you think about it, right? We can think something and be wrong about it. This is a general truth that can be easily demonstrated virtually any time we want. It's really helpful to have a good appreciation of this. Try saying something false and appreciate it. Like find an object like a cup and say "that cup is going to levitate 1 foot into the air". And then watch the cup and see that you were wrong. Just because we say something, or think something, doesn't make it true. If it was, a person could say "I'm a millionaire" and become rich. So ask yourself, why do I think this? Are there good reasons, or did it all come from myself? If it all came from myself, what are a few alternate explanations for how I feel? How can I test if I am right or wrong? It's okay. It's easy to get hung up on a narrative of we have some emotions in the mix. Maybe look at your judgements of medical problems. It's often our judgements of a thing and not thing itself that we are bothered by. Just some thoughts that I hope might help. Wishing you health and happiness ahead.
