Dunkirk
Hello everyone!
I know it's been out at the cinema a little while and I'm not sure if this is going to be of any help, but as a GAD sufferer I tend to also be very sensitive.
I went to see the film 'Dunkirk' at the cinema yesterday, as my boyfriend has wanted to see it for a bit now. Now, as a Brit, obviously I know that this film based on that awful event in world war II history wasn't exactly going to be a happy song and dance. This film captured the horror of the time so so well that I did have to leave the screening and huddle in the toilet, where I could ground myself and hear other women talking in the bathroom about normal things. I very narrowly avoided a panic attack this time, but I was on edge all day and couldn't sleep last night.
If you are a sensitive person, this is just a heads up that this film is very intense and may really upset you.
Take care
@pinkmallow Thank you for this post. I do want to see it but may wait until it comes to redbox to watch at home. I want to see it because of Harry Styles and the historical aspect, though I too have had a panic attack in the movie theater bathroom. I've had them primarily there for some unknown reason. Much appreciated <3
@XtinaSunshine Harry was absolutely brilliant! Hopefully we will see more of his acting in the future. A cast full of talent, they were all amazing. The film itself is also beautifully shot.
I have to say that, regardless of how the film affected me in that way, at least I had the choice to leave the screening to gather myself - those men didn't have that choice. We should never forget!
