Could use some help today...

Im having a lot of fear and anxiety today. I finally brought up some of my problems to a family member and he suggested that just medications alone are not going to help me, and that I should consider therapy. With my past, he thought trauma and anxiety therapy would be helpful.
When did you guys decide to seek therapy? How is it going for you? Im scared to go, to bring up the past, and confront my ever so long list of fears and worries. Any suggestions or encouragement will be helpful. Thanks.
