Is there a support community with a journaling aspect?
Hello,
I am new to 7 cups. My name is Stephanie.
I was just wondering if anyone knew of a sort of community exactly like this one (this being kind of like the holy grail) BUT with a built in journaling component for members.
A long time ago I was a member of an online community that was focused on just one type of issue that is no longer what I struggle with but members had a blog as well as the forums and such.
Does anyone know of such a community for anxiety and depression etc...
Thank you in advance. I hope this is the right place to ask this.
@BookWomanOfFahrenheit451 Hello Stephanie, welcome to 7 cups. I'm so glad to hear that you are joining us and I hope that you find that our community can help you in however way we can.
To answer your question, we don't have a specific subcommunity here specifically for journalling our anxiety and depression. However, I have found that checking in here on the anxiety support community and depression support community often and participating in the check in threads have acted as a sort of journaling exercise that helps me with my mental health. You can join both communities and be added to the tag lists so you are notified when a new thread is posted. If you need help figuring out how, let me know. :)
7 cups also provides a Hobby Zone community so you can connect with other uses insterested in the same past times. In that community, you can find subforums such as Using Hobbies for Therapy I haven't gone through the threads in that subforum but chances are you will find a journalling thread there (and if not, you can always be the first to start one!).
Also, it isn't acting so much as a journaling group, but I did start a thread with two other members on this site so we can check in with each other regarding our anxieties. We are open with each other and talk about serious topics that have been weighing on our minds but we also have lighthearted updates where we get to know each other better and just strengthen our friendship. You are more than welcome to join the group if you are interested in having someone to consistently speak to regarding how you're feeling. Just stop by here and introduce yourself and we'll be sure to include you in the conversation :)
Lastly, It isn't uncommon for members to seek out long term listeners on 7 cups. Have you connected with a listener before? Once you find one that you find really helpful to talk to, you should see if they are open to scheduling regular sessions with you so you can have these personalized check in meetings. It feels very much like an interactive journalling.
I hope these suggestions were helpful. If you need help accessing any of these resources, please don't hesitate to ask.
