I have a fear of men and sexual relationships.

Androphobia is a severe fear of men, Genophobia is a serve fear of sexual relationships

About Androphobia-

Androphobia (from Greek: andras man, and phobos fear) is an intense and abnormal fear of men. Androphobic people tend to avoid men and feel extremely nervous when having conversation with men. If left untreated, androphobia will hinder someones personal, professional, and interpersonal life.

People with androphobia may have a normal life and make friends with many people. However, they keep avoiding men so that it is almost impossible for them to build a relationship with men. Without further action to overcome this problem, androphobic people may choose to get single for the rest of their lives.

About Genophobia-

Genophobia is an irrational fear of sex or sexual intercourse. When such matters are discussed or attempted the condition can induce a panic state in the genophobic person. Panic symptoms could include panic attack, rapid breathing, rapid pulse, sweating, dry mouth and inability to complete any act of intercourse. There are a number of reasons why people can develop genophobia, and sometimes people will have the condition without a specific reason.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These phobias stemmed from my sexual and physical abuse that I experienced as a child. Starting when I was 6 years old... I have always been terrified of the thought having any sexual relations with any man ever since then. I have always been nervous around men. This has effected me very much even now as I am married and sometimes when my husband touches me (even for just a hug) I panic. I am very aware that he would never hurt me. But this does make things hard.

Does anyone else have something like this? If so I would love for any of you to share anything about it.

I am there with you infortunately.

With my last ex it caused alot of problems for me and within the relationship.

Its tough and i think its a part of the ptsd aswell. For me i foind when i was at my most relaxed thinking about something else and unaware that someone was going to touch me that i reacted the worst to.

Thank you so mich for writing this post as i know that many people who have experienced abuse stuggle with this issue.

Safe hugs and best wishes to you
