Health Anxiety

alwaysnervous March 9th

Stuck in a viscous cycle at the moment, of worrying about my health 24/7 and needing it to be okay more than anything, but making constant poor choices such as binge drinking, lack of exercise and unhealthy eating. I’m always PETRIFIED something will happen to me and I’ll leave my son behind, but I’m so inconsistent with better choices.

Any advice on how to stop this ridiculousness would mean the world to me! 🫶🏼

One approach you might consider is focusing on small, manageable changes. Rather than trying to overhaul your entire lifestyle all at once, start by making one healthier choice each day. This could be as simple as taking a short walk, choosing a healthier snack, or limiting your alcohol intake. Remember, it's okay to seek help and take things one step at a time. You're not alone in this, and there are people who want to support you.

If you're struggling with addiction, it can be tough to break the cycle. One thing you can try is to find a healthy activity to replace the harmful behavior. For example, if you're battling alcohol addiction, you could try taking up a sport or exercising at the gym instead. Not only will this help you stay healthy, but it will also give you something positive to focus on and help you distance yourself from the addiction. Regular exercise has been shown to have numerous benefits for physical and mental health, including reducing stress, improving mood, and boosting self-esteem. It can also help you sleep better, which is important for overall health and well-being. So, if you're worried about your health as a result of your addiction, exercise could be a positive step towards improving your well-being. Remember, it's important to be kind to yourself and seek support from others as you work through addiction.
