Did you see the movie "Dear Evan Hansen?" (Triggers social anxiety and suicide.)
I recently watched a movie that beautifully portrays struggles in a very tasteful manner. (Dear Evan Hansen) While it may be triggering for some, I believe it has the potential to help those who are currently experiencing similar afflictions.
I want to note that the movie does touch on themes of social anxiety and suicide, so it's important to be aware of this before deciding whether or not to watch it.
If you're unsure about whether it's the right movie for you, I encourage you to check out the previews on YouTube and make a decision that feels right for you.
As a listener here on 7Cups, I have spoken with many people who are dealing with social anxiety and related issues, and I want you to know that I am here for you. (Please remember that all listeners including myself have active listening training, but if we feel you may have a better option, we would suggest a therapist. They are the ones with education, experience, and a license) There are professional therapists on 7Cups as well as in your community.
You don't have to go through this alone, and I would be honored to listen and offer support as you navigate these challenges.
Remember, you are loved and valued, and there is always hope for a brighter tomorrow. Please take care of yourself and know that I and all other listeners are sending you a virtual hug.
