I hate when the counselor says that everything is going to be fine because i know after I leave this room and i go out to the next class I will rethink my whole life and then I will think about dying and then I start praying to get any disease or any medical condition that would keep me in the hospital and not go to school but then i get scared because I know if I can’t handle my life now I’m not going to handle it when I’m sick

@goldenTree3086

Hello, When my counselor first told me I was going to be alright, It gave me hope but I doubted her because I felt very disconnected in a dark perception, I was confused, my metal and physical health were both terrible. My point of telling you all of this is that she was right!` This is 5 years later! I've worked with her every week for the first 2 years and then every other week, and I have spent a lot of time on 7Cups also. I see what she was talking about....

And the process goes like this:

- Learn to value yourself enough to really put in an effort

- Get to know what makes us tick, learn who we really are

- Advocate for yourself, your rights, (if you're a veteran, go out and claim your benefits)

- Learn all about coping tools, and therapy provides a clear path to getting better

- Self Care is so very important! Love who you see in the mirror and take care of that reflection as if it were your own child looking at you. (We all have a child still inside us and children need care.

I hope you are feeling better today! I'm so proud of you for writing in the forum, I think you may have earned another badge or award. You should be proud of yourself - Keep reaching out, that's how I got to the point of feeling normal again, and (at I am not even close to normal, but I have learned to figure it out :-) Tag me any time, Day

Blessings, Day
