Considering Ketamine

Hi, I hope this is the right forum for this. I have recurring anxiety and depression and have been in and out of therapy for years, plus tried several antidepressants and antidepressants anxiety meds. Been on Sertraline 50 mg for about 4 years and it doesn't seem to work anymore but when the doc tried upping my dose to 100 that made the anxiety 10 times worse! So now I'm on 75 and still struggling. Frankly I'm tired of seeing docs and trying meds and want to do something different. I've heard good things about ketamine so I'm looking into a local clinic. Has anyone tried that and what's your experience? I just want to be free from these anxiety cycles for good! Thanks all.

Hi. I get being sick of the meds but I’m sure there is a right one out there or combination of some that’s right for you. That being said have you tried exercising? I briskly walk and jog for a few minutes to get the heart rate up and that helps me a lot. I’m also reading 2 books. One is called Feeling Good and the other is The 10 Best Ever Anxiety Management Techniques. I haven’t tried ketamine but I’m going to look into it now. I’m here if you need to talk.

@Judecat42 I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with recurring anxiety and depression. It's understandable that you feel tired of seeing doctors and trying medications. Ketamine treatment has been shown to be effective for some people with treatment-resistant depression and anxiety. However, it's important to keep in mind that ketamine treatment is not a cure and is still relatively new, so it's important to speak with a medical professional and do your own research to make an informed decision. It's also important to continue therapy and any other forms of self-care that have been helpful for you. Have you discussed your interest in ketamine treatment with your current doctor or therapist? They may be able to provide more information or refer you to a reputable clinic.
