I am a student in university, so these will be quite specific to that, but I hope someone will find them useful.

1. I cannot reccomend body doubling enough. it is a godsend, and it can be as easy as messaging your friend group and saying "hey i'm doing homework, does anyone want to join a voice call and study together?" you'll be suprised by how many people bite.

2.Checklists for everythiiiiiing. I make a checklist before I go to bed listing all the steps i need to accomplish to get out the door on time, I make checklists of every task that needs to happen to finish an assignment. It's not even about remembering things for me, its about the satisfaction that comes from ticking off a box, and its a great way to reduce desicion paralysis. It's way easier to put tasks in order when you're not just about to do them, and when you do have to do them, well, they're in order on this page, so i'll do the first thing first.

3. Scheduling. now i find that I can't schedule every minute of my day, so instead i schedule when i arrive at the library, when i go to lunch, and when i go to class. Then once i get to the library, i whip out my checklist of the things i need to accomplish, and im off to the races. I also track all of my assignment due dates in my calendar. The act of transferring them from wherever on your school portal to your calendar helps make these deadlines more real, and they're easier to refer back to if you need a quick snapshot of your week.

4. Patience. The unfortunate truth is, these strategies don't work every day, and when they don't I remind myself that one unproductive day is not the end of the world, and I go home to clean my dorm room, do my dishes, or take that shower i've been putting off. if you manage to even do something small with your day, it'll set u up for a better time tomorrow.

And there you have it, NB's personal favourite coping mechanisms. Sorry for the long reply, but i got excited.

I totally agree with you here. Checklist is a really fun way to keep in track of things that needs to be done, and we can see the things we've accomplished too! Scheduling and all of that does take a lot of patience.
Great to see the legendary body doubling technique helping you! I do think it's really helpful to keep another person in call to study or do things together.
Thanks a lot for replying and sharing all of this, I really appreciate it Red heart Have a lovely day!

1. My favorite way to cope with ADHD is playing video games or writing poems.

2. 9- It has definitely healed my mental health a lot and I have continued to use it to cope. My mental health had been declining before I started using those methods, and as soon as I started it shot back up.

3. I've been using those methods for just over a year now.
