Meth addiction
I have struggled off and on with meth for 8 years. I was even in some legal trouble I'm currently on probation and I only have one month left until I finish. But I struggle with meth because my neighbor in my apartment complex uses meth and always has it and knows how to get it deeply influences me. I don't like it because I lose weight and it changes my personality. I feel so much better without it but now that I'm in the throes of using it again it's really extra hard this time because of my neighbor I don't know what to do anybody have any suggestions or advice??
@Sunnyside1985 Imagine you are your own child. What do you wish for that child. Certainly not this. You can’t escape external triggers although it can be helpful in the beginning to remove them if you can. Become a friend to your feelings good and bad (mindfulness meditation is helpful for this, therapy is as well). When you befriend your feelings you don’t need to run away from them with substances. Where will you be if you mess up your probation? Find ways to fill your time with something that interests you but is not so much of a challenge that you give up. Be flexible in whatever works. What works today might not work so well tomorrow. Some days will just be tough - I’m sure you know this from recent experience.
