Is partying an addiction ?
I have been dating a man for 6 months, he doesn’t seem to be able to control his parting, he likes drugs and raves. Any experiences on this issue? Is it considered an addiction ? Thanks
No it’s a sick cycle that’s hard as hell to break. He’s masking his real feelings with the drugs he has some issue that’s been unresolved past trauma or just isn’t happy with himself sober he does it to change the way he feels
It's certainly a complex set of issues. I've been on both sides of addiction. Raves can be a bad influence if self control is a problem for him, however raves can also be a wonderful congregation of peoples focused on music, dancing, kindness, self expression, and acceptance of one another. Drug use may or may not be an addiction. There is the possibility depending on the drug that he could be physically addicted. Regardless of the physicality, there is a psychological component of wanting to feel different than his normal self. That is certainly something that he should seek professional help for.
