Forum Discussion: Gratitude and Giving Back To Others During Holidays
Greetings everyone!
Today is the final day of the Jingles of Positivity & Gratitude forum series! Thank you for sticking with us till the end! For the fourth day of the event, we have a forum discussion on Gratitude and Giving Back To Others During the Holidays!
Holidays are meant for rejuvenation, gifts, cheers, love, and all things good in the world! As the new year peeks from around the corner, a time of spreading joy and giving back to those around us ticks closer.
The end of the year is a great time to reflect upon the days that have passed us by, how much we grew during that time, what lessons we learned, and to count our blessings. Gratitude is an awesome coin to add to your purse!
It has been proven to increase personal levels of happiness in people, and do you know what else helps you in achieving that? Giving back to others! Holidays are a perfect excuse to do it and here are a few amazing reasons why you should indulge in it!
It makes the Holidays easier for those in need
There are many around us who are not at a good point in life and the Holidays for them are a hard time. When you give back to people like that in the community, it makes these days a little easier and happier for them.
Gives one a chance to bring about a positive change in the world
When you give back to others, you show that you care for them and that they matter. It makes one feel loved and even if it’s just for a little moment, you made someone smile! Bringing about such positive changes in the world is good for your soul in addition to being great for the community!
Helps add to happiness during the holidays not just for others but also for oneself!
When you give back to others, are a little extra kind to them, it adds to their happiness. Making others happy is also a great way to feel good about yourself. It makes one feel useful and kindness always returns to us in unexpected ways! Going a little out of your way to make others feel happy during the Holidays adds to the spirit and helps spread the cheer!
How to give back to the community during the pandemic?
The pandemic has affected our ability to do as much for the community as we’d like to, but we can still improvise and find alternative, safer ways to do it! You can donate masks and sanitary supplies to those who can’t afford them, help those students gain access to online education who did not have the means to continue their academics, and support local volunteer organizations working for community welfare among a ton of other ways to give back during the Holidays!
Thank you so much for reading till here! If you liked today’s discussion, please tag your friends!
Taking your leave now, I have a few questions for you to answer:

>> How are you going to give back to others during this holiday season?
I am trying to give back to others by acting compassionate and selfless when around family, especially my mother, and to try to support her during this holiday stress as much as possible. I also want to remain compassionate towards my other family members who I do not share a good relationship with, and stay calm and collected when anyone starts a fight to not contribute to a bad atmosphere. I know this might not be the exact way of giving back in ways that it is usual, like donating money or helping out people. The issue here is that I am currently still recovering from an illness, and thus not allowed to be around strangers who haven't had it yet, and dont have any money as a broke 19 years old..... so im trying to give back within my community.
