What Is My Love Language?
"What Are The 5 Love Languages?
Have you been asked what your love language is, then thought to yourself, “I don’t know? What is my love language?” When a person receives a specific behavior from someone which corresponds with the way the person perceives love, he or she then feels adored and valued. Usually, this individual will perform these same specific behaviors when showing love and affection to others.
The 5 Love Languages Explained
Words of Affirmation-A person who feels loved by receiving verbal expressions of love or flattering compliments. Hence, this individual values affection expressed in written or spoken words, including texting, writing, and social media.
Physical Touch-This person feels loved when being hugged, cuddled, or touched in an affectionate manner. And this includes loving under the sheets! Therefore, affectionate touch causes this individual to feel cared for and adored.
Quality Time-A person who yearns to spend time with others feels loved when someone close wants to spend quality time together. The loved ones give the person their full attention using engaging body language. However, if a partner is always watching TV or constantly on a cell phone, this individual feels abandoned and unloved.
Gifts-This person feels loved when someone takes the time to choose and buy a present just for him or her. It doesn’t have to be expensive, just thoughtful and meaningful. This person loves to receive special surprises or flowers from their partner.
Acts of Service-When one performs acts intended to make life easier or better for loved ones, it is an act of love. The wife who picks up her husband’s dry cleaning or the husband who washes dishes for his wife. Unfortunately, this is the most misunderstood or most maligned love language as it is often taken for granted by the intended party.

I love reading about this particular topic Haha, nice articles available on the internet.
A little while ago @lueurspace made a similar post Here, that was aimed at self-love (love how creative Luuuuu was in thinking of using our preferred love language for ourselves hehe, brilliant). ❤ [yes, I still have that one saved in my memory and forum threads lollll]
I still feel the same though xD about using a mix of these love languages, both as a giver and receiver.
As a receiver, again the same still, it's Acts of Service, Quality Time and Words of affirmations that make the most impact on me, and well well in a very dramatic way ones that work like a charm on me *winks winks* haha! 😛
Thankyou, again, for another super amazing article, Joy.💛
And definitely, communication is super important in relationships (of any kind), i feel, a little more emphasis should be given to comprehension also here, you can't communicate for the sake of just communicating with anyone, you need first comprehend and understand where a person is coming from, what are they trying to convey (verbal and non-verbal cues), and then respond accordingly from a place of mutual understanding, love, and most most important, respect. Guess I'll say, comprehend and then communicate haha! ❤
How about you though, what is your love language?
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
I definitely can see you as a giver sun!!!
You give us so much kindness and warmth throughout the community!
Comprehension is a big part of relationships! Having an understanding of others and where they are coming from also helps with empathy, I feel. As always, you make very valid points sun! 😊
My love language is also words of affirmation! 💛💫
@innateJoy9602
Aww thankyouu, so very sweet always, offering lovely words of affirmations hehe.💛 *high fiveeee*

Thank you again for another great abstract of a great article!
Words of appreciation have a great impact on me.
By the way, some time ago I read the book "The 5 Love Languages" by Gary Chapman and it was very very useful to improve my relations with family and friends, not only romantic relationships as its cover implies.
Something important I learned is that other people might be sensitive to different kinds of messages than we do, so we might be doing a great effort in an ineffective way.
Doing a little detective work and applying the results might change things a lot for the better.
Thank you again, Joy, for helping to educate us on so many important things!
@HealingTalk
I am the same! Words of appreciation are the way to my heart!
I have heard of that book! I believe Chapman is coined with bringing us these love languages!
Also, great point! It’s always helpful to do a little detective work and find out what works best for those around you!
Thanks for sharing healing! 💛💫
@innateJoy9602
Thank you for sharing these valuable insights and ideas!
For me I like words of affirmation and quality time, but what I like to do for others that I know is to give gifts.
@L1ly0ftheValley
We are very similar then!
I also like words of affirmation and I would say quality time comes a close second!
It's great that you like to give gifts! I'm sure those around you appreciate it!💛💫
@innateJoy9602 - Thank you, and yes sometimes they do appreciate it, but even if they may not that is probably because it's not their love language. :P I actually had that book, The 5 Love Languages, it's a great read.
@L1ly0ftheValley
Well said!
I might have to look into buying the actual book. I feel it can teach a lot! :)💛
