There are three areas of Self-Care that are important at any stage of life:

Sleeping Habits

According to the Sleep Foundation, sleep powers the mind, restores the body, and fortifies virtually every system in the body. It is advised that adults get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night.

The same rules of stopping screen time an hour or more before bedtime should apply. Also, sticking to a regular sleep time routine, having a comfortable mattress, and limiting your caffeine intake will increase the chances for a better night’s sleep.

Diet

According to Optum, you can improve your energy and support your health by choosing nutritious foods most of the time. These include:

  • Fruits and vegetables

  • Whole grains

  • Fat-free or low-fat dairy

  • Lean meat, poultry, or seafood

  • Beans, legumes, and soy foods
  • Nuts and seeds

You should limit your intake of processed sugar and unhealthy fats. The benefits of healthy eating include:

  • Better heart health

  • Longer Life

  • Healthy weight

  • Lower cancer risk

  • Better brain health
  • Healthier gut

Exercise

Walking is underrated as a good form of exercise. The important thing is to keep moving!”
