New cultures - new places - what is your favorite?
There are places in the world with different cultures and practices. Even though we cannot visit that particular place in the world, sometimes we feel that place as dear to us.

I have traveled many places and I found the weather different but people everywhere seem to be basically the same. And the part I tried to correct by going other places was being sad, but I seem to take my sadness with me in my suitcases because everywhere I went it seemed to appear again.
I am kind of glad I did not find some place that made me feel good all the time. If I did find that I would have never been motivated to work with my mind to be able to cope with emotions and thoughts. That has really made a lot of difference: not believing my happiness is out there somewhere. I think we carry our happiness wherever we go, if we can only find where we left it. 😊

Wow soulsings, these are deep thoughts and so true. No place will be a happy place if we do not feel happy inside.

- What place(s) in the world do you feel most represent who you are or are you attracted to? Any places where there is lush vegetation, preferably forests. Nature is something I am strongly connected to and I feel that I need to be around plants.
- How do you know about this place (reading, videos, and or travel)? I've visited various jungles in different countries but the place I feel most home and well is my own garden.
My favorite place in the world is cancun. I had my honeymoon there a couple of decades ago. Have been back several times. The water is this amazing aray of tourqois colors. The seashell picking is great. The people are so kind. We went there after my brother died a few years ago for my birthday and anniversary. Sitting on the beach one day I saw a waitress walking with a pineapple and a straw and umbrella and thought my god who ordered that. They made it to cheer me up. The pineapple had cherry eyes and an orange for the mouth. The best part is that they filled it with Pina coladas. The people there are so nice and they take such good care of you it's amazing. I hope to go back someday. It's such a magical place and you feel so at peace there. You leave all your troubles behind.

That sounds like an amazing vacation! It's nice to be surrounded by kind people particularly if you're going through a rough time, sorry for your loss 💙. I hope you soon can go back there and enjoy a lovely pina colada pineapple.

I find good company makes or breaks a place.If you have good company then any place is fun.Even if you are on a normal street you tend to like it.Even if you are not personally mentally in a happy place,when you have some one of a similar age or experience or interest,you forget your own sorrows for a while and enjoy the moment.

I agree to what you said about the importance of our inner state of feelings, it does make us see places differently. Having good company can be a bonus for sure.
I'm so glad I came across this post.
I have always had a pull towards the language spanish. It started from my childhood because of Dora lol. But all these years I have always felt a special love for that language and I'm still learning it too. For a long time I thought, since I like spanish I might like Spain, but never really felt a special love or anything for that country. Turns out, the way I feel about spanish, I get that same feeling when I read or see more about any Latin American spanish speaking countries. I feel the same pull towards those countries. Although the dialects and even words and phrases of Spanish differ from country to country, there's something about Latin America that pulls me towards it. It might be the people, the culture, the places... I'm not sure what it is. It is inexplicable but I love that feeling. I wish someday I visit or even live in those places ❤️ Much love to everyone out there.

I hope one day you can go there and find out what is attracting you so much. I wonder whether you have a particular association with the feelings you have or maybe it's just the rhythm or the flavor of the cuisine, things you have read or heard about?
