Good morning

ivoryDog7937 October 27th

I am new to the community. I was in an abusive relationship with a narcissistic person for 10+ yrs and it took over a year before my divorce was final. I basically broke even with retaining what I entered the marriage with. I did however lose my house acquired during the marriage, my community and lively hood. I moved away. During this process, I also lost my father due to medical complications. The pressure and stress has been very difficult with both the divorce and death as I have been buried in endless paperwork. Shortly after I moved back to my parents house, I had a car accident, totalling my car taking another toll on me mentally and physically. It's been 6 weeks and almost recovered but feel I should be farther along. I joined this site to help get my mind in a better place. Which has also been a slow process. Open to useful tools and resources. Working on finding the peace and serenity I once had

Hello ivoryDog7937 and welcome to the community.

I can only imagine what you've been through, so sorry to hear this. It takes a lot of courage to get out of an abusive relationship, hugs. Living with someone who has narcissist traits can hurt the self-image, and it will take time to recover.

My heart goes out to you, so sorry for the loss of your father. It hurts when someone you love dies. It must have been so hard to deal with all of this and on top of it having a bad car accident.

You suffered a lot and, in many ways, and your wounds need healing. We are here for you to chat and for comfort.  Joining a support group or talking to a listener in a 1:1 chat can be helpful.
