Shareen obtained her Bachelor in Applied Social Science (Majoring in Counselling) from the Australian College of Applied Psychology in 2008, and used this to work in the child protection system in Australia for over 10 years. During this time, she also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Youth Mental Health from the University of Melbourne, in a joint degree through Orygen Youth Health, in 2014. From 2014 to 2017 she worked across the health setting, with young people and their families with cancer and chronic ill health and with young offenders. In 2017 she entered private practice, specialising in mental health, young people and their families, cancer and chronic ill-health and trauma, particularly childhood trauma, abuse and neglect and subsequently completed her Masters of Social Work (Professional Qualifying).
