Anxiety driving/ PTSD from being tailgated (rear ended)

...See more Hi y’all, I experience heightened anxiety while driving, or when I am being tailgated I get PTSD (I was rear ended at a stop sign in an accident a few years ago). I drive on average 10 mph over the posted speed limit to avoid being tailgated, but sometimes it still happens, and I begin to get severe anxiety and sometimes tunnel vision. Sometimes I react in flight or fight and push my car to the limits (barely a 4cyl under 200hp car from the 90’s) just to try to gain space away from the tailgater, and 99.9% of the time it seems to make things worse and they tailgate even worse (I stay in the slow lane so it’s really just a whole unnerving and anxiety ridden situation). Has anyone else experienced anything similar? When this happens I feel like im being a target or harassed and bullied sometimes, even though I try to remind myself some people get strange behind the wheel. It is really unnerving and upsetting and feels harmful to my mental health and physical health sometimes. Any strategies or coping skills for this type of situation would be appreciated.
