Emotional cycle after a breakup

...See more Hello all, Ive been through a break up with my long term girlfriend about 10 days ago. She ended things because she felt distant, and the breakup wasnt terrible or anything, but very painful for me. Things have been tough for me, but Im doing my best to better understand my emotions, and recover. for the past 3 days, Ive been going through a cycle of emotions. i usually dream of my ex, I wake up feeling fine, but then throughout the day (while at work) I start getting terrible anxiety and general feeling of sadness. I know its not work related, because I love my job and Im extremely comfortable, and the people are very supportive. when I go home I start feeling better, and toward the end of the day I get an amazing sense of peace and hope. I usually go the gym after work, and I thought thats why my mood is improved. But today, I skipped the gym, and Im feeling at peace. however, I hate going to sleep because I know that Im going to go through the same vicious cycle all over again. ive also noticed that I feel much better generally when Im not socializing with people. Did anyone ever go through a similar experience?
