Depression Support / by tallSailboat6591

...See more Lately I’ve been having a lot of trouble with motivation to do basic things, I still do them because I don’t have a choice but I feel exhausted and even things that I used to enjoy aren’t as great as before. Recently I had really bad anxiety over an assignment and my teacher comforted me and told me that I was a good student and that he believed in me which made me feel much better but I also felt upset that he asked me if I talked to my parents about this because it was their role to help me as well. I didn’t say anything but my dad left me when I was younger and I love my mother very much, however, she doesn’t understand mental illness despite the fact that the doctor has explained it to her many times. Luckily she is letting me take anti - depressants which is good, however, I just feel a lack of support. A lot of the time she just thinks I’m lazy or gets annoyed when I overthink. The counsellors at my school are horrible as well. Literally no one I know is satisfied with them. We go in there with literal panic attacks and they treat us rudely and ask us why we haven’t returned back to class if we stay beyond a period, despite preaching that it’s a safe and comfortable space we can go to. I can’t even listen to my teacher when I’m too anxious, I work way better in a quiet space and the teacher puts notes in google classroom anyways so it’s not like I’m left without work I love my friends to bits but they also have their own mental problems too and plus adults can be supportive in ways friends can’t sometimes. My only saving (adult) grace is my psychologist however, I can only see her once every two weeks because she’s quite full at the moment and so are many places outside of my school due to everything that’s been happening in the world. I don’t know what to do
