Hey there I'm Izzy, welcome to my profile! 👋

*Due to a higher demand in my personal life as well as focusing on my upcoming exams, while also meeting team quotas for my roles on 7 Cups, my response times may be slower for the time being. Thank you for understanding.*

I have a genuine passion for supporting others, and I am committed to establishing a secure, inviting, and non-judgmental space for our conversations. Whether it's something troubling you or simply what's on your mind, feel free to reach out at any time. Your messages are always welcome, and I'll respond as soon as possible.

If you'd like to discuss a topic that necessitates a bit of research or if you prefer a specific scheduled time, feel free to book me HERE then message me letting me know that you have.

Please feel free to message me anytime and I will get back to you as soon as possible 💙

In our conversations, my primary goal is to provide a supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. I prioritize listening attentively, ensuring you have my undivided attention. Colours of Availability:

💚 Green: I'm online and currently taking new chats. Feel free to message me and I will respond shortly 💚
🧡 Orange: I'm online, but I may be busy with other members or listeners right now. Feel free to leave me a message, and I will respond when I am free 🧡
❤️ Red: I'm currently offline or unable to take chats right now. Feel free to leave me a message, and I will reply the next time I am online ❤️

When it comes to these specific chats:
I'm currently not taking chats on Sexual health and Cancer/chronic pain/diabetes/disabilities as I do not feel confident enough providing the support you deserve with these topics. I don't mind briefly discussing these topics if they come up alongside another topic; I want all members to get the best possible support and I believe that I am not experienced enough to support someone with these specific issues.

My roles on 7 Cups:

VL Project Agent and Mentor Leader

 SPOT (Safety Patrol Outreach Team)

 Peer Supporter

Forum supporter for the Student Support community

 Member welcoming team

Let's talk about burnout! 🧠💤

...See more Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well! 😊 I wanted to start a conversation today about something I think a lot of us can relate to - student burnout 🧠💤 What is burnout? Burnout isn't just feeling tired after a long day of studying; it’s more than that. It’s when you feel emotionally, physically and mentally drained, like you’ve got nothing left to give. Suddenly, even the things you usually enjoy feel like a chore. Sound familiar? 😣 I know I’ve personally been there, especially during those crunch periods (exam season, I’m talking about you!). You might start feeling: * Exhausted even after resting * Unmotivated to do schoolwork or activities you usually enjoy * Like you’re constantly behind, no matter how much you do * Overwhelmed and anxious about deadlines or expectations If you're experiencing any of this, you're definitely not alone 💛 So, what can we do to about burnout? This can definitely vary between individuals and what works for one person may not work for another. Here are a few things that have helped me, but I’d love to hear your tips too! * Setting boundaries: It’s okay to say no sometimes. Balance is key. Carving out time for yourself, whether it's to chill, exercise, or do something fun is super helpful. * Take breaks: I know it feels like we don’t have time, but taking short, regular breaks can help you recharge. The Pomodoro technique (25 minutes study, 5-minute break) can be super effective. 🍅 * Stay organised: It can be so much more motivating to break tasks down into manageable chunks and using a planner or an app to keep track of them. Checking off tasks feels amazing and helps you see progress! * Talk about it: Sometimes, just venting to a friend or family member helps lighten the load. You can also share your experiences here - we're all here to support each other! 😊 * Self-care (it's not optional): Make sure you're getting enough sleep, eating properly, and doing things that make you happy. Burnout can hit harder if you're neglecting your physical and emotional needs. I'd love to hear from you! What are your experiences with burnout? Have you found any strategies that work for you? Let’s all share tips, encourage each other, and remember that it’s okay to take a step back when we need it. 💪✨ Sending positive vibes to all the hardworking students out there! 🌟  Can't wait to hear from you all ❤️
Building resilience as a student 💪

...See more Hey everyone! ✨ Being a student can be super tough - between assignments, exams, social life, mental health and everything else, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. 😓 It's important that we don't let this overwhelm take over. Resilience is the key to bouncing back when things get hard and its something that can be built up over time! 🧠🌱 💡 What is resilience, anyway? Resilience is all about how we adapt to challenges, stress, and setbacks. 🛠️ Whether it’s a failed test, a rough week or feeling lost, resilience helps us pick ourselves up and keep moving forward. It’s not about avoiding problems but learning how to handle them better. 🌟 How can you build resilience? Resilience is something that can be developed in different ways for different people; everyone's experiences, coping mechanisms and strengths are unique, so what works for one person may not for another and this is okay! Below are some general ways to build resilience:  🌀 Reframe the challenge: Instead of seeing obstacles as roadblocks, think of them as opportunities to grow. 🌱 What can you learn from this experience? 🎯 Set small goals: Breaking things down can be kay! 📝 Each small victory is a step closer to success, and celebrating them can help to boost your confidence and motivation! 🤝 Lean on your support system: Don’t do it alone! Whether it's friends, family or even our 7 Cups community, having people to talk to can make a huge difference. 💬💕 🧘 Prioritise self-care: Resilience isn’t just mental, it’s physical too. Get enough sleep 💤, eat nutritious food 🍎, and don’t forget to exercise! 🏃‍♀️ Self-care keeps you strong inside and out. 🔄 Embrace the setbacks: If you failed an exam or didn’t hit your goal - it’s okay! Every setback is a learning experience. Think about what you can improve and apply it next time. 📚🔑 🤔 So.. let’s discuss  What challenges have you faced as a student recently? 🎓 How did you overcome them? Or, is there something you’re currently struggling with that you need support on?👇💬 I'll start - this week I was really stuck with my English coursework as I couldn’t find a topic that felt good enough. The pressure was building, which became stressful and felt like nothing was working. At first, I was scared to ask for help because I thought it's too late to not have a topic. But eventually, I talked to my teacher and he helped me see things from a different perspective. It reminded me that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness and a key part of resilience. Remember....resilience doesn’t mean you're invincible - it means you’re capable of growing, learning, and coming back stronger every time. You've got this! 💥🙌

...See more Hey everyone! 🙌 The summer break has officially come to an end, and we're back for another exciting school year! 🎒 Whether you're starting fresh in a new grade or continuing your journey, I know this time of year can be a mix of excitement, nerves, and maybe a little bit of stress. You’re not alone! 😊 Let’s take a moment to embrace this fresh start! 📝 Setting new goals: What are you looking forward to? Maybe you want to crush those grades, join a new club, or just try to be more organised this year.  👯‍♀️ Meeting new people: Whether you’ve been with the same classmates for years or you’re meeting new ones, it's a great time to strengthen friendships or make new ones. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself or be the person who reaches out to someone who might be feeling a bit lost. 🧠 Managing stress: A new year can also bring some pressure - homework, projects, and all that school-life balance. But together, we can share tips on how to manage it all without feeling overwhelmed. What helps you stay calm and focused when things get busy?  💬 Let’s support each other: If you're feeling a little lost, anxious, or unsure about this year, this is a safe space to talk about it. We’re all here to listen, encourage, and remind each other that it’s okay to take things one step at a time. And if you're feeling great, your positivity might just be the boost someone else needs today! Let’s turn this new academic year into one of growth, self-discovery, and support. You’ve got this! And remember - whenever you need a little extra motivation or a friendly ear, we’re here for you. 💪💛 How are you feeling about this school year? Any tips or routines that help you settle in?

Maximising Revision Efficiency with the 8 8 8 Formula

...See more Revising and exams can be so stressful, but efficient revision can greatly help to reduce a lot of the stress we may experience. I wanted to share a productivity hack that has really transformed the way I approach revision: the 8 8 8 day division formula. It's a simple yet powerful method for organising your study or revision time to maximize efficiency and retention. Divide Your Time into Three 8-Hour Blocks: One day is made up of 24 hours, so if we divide our day equally, it will allow focused periods of work, allowing you to dedicate yourself fully to specific tasks without burning out, but also allows you to get time for yourself, and enough sleep. So, divide your day into: - 8 hours: Sleep - 8 hours: Revision/study - 8 hours: Time to yourself Allocate Each Block to Different Activities: Within your 8-hour studying block, assign specific activities or subjects to focus on. For example, you might dedicate 1 hour to maths, the next hour to science, the next to History, etc. This segmentation helps prevent cognitive overload and keeps your mind fresh throughout the day. Within your 8-hours to yourself, you can do anything you want! You could dedicate 1 hour to the gym, 2 hours to hang out with friends, etc. You can do whatever you'd like in this time. Within the 8-hour sleep period, of course, that's your time to sleep! This way, you ensure that you have been efficient on that day, preventing burnout, and getting the right amount of sleep! Incorporate Breaks and Variety: Within each hour that you study,, incorporate short breaks to rest and recharge. You could follow the Pomodoro technique, for instance, with 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break. Additionally, you could mix up your blocks, so you could do 2 hours study, 1 hour time to yourself, etc. ------------------------- By implementing the 8 8 8 day division formula, I've found that I can cover a wide range of topics effectively while avoiding the pitfalls of procrastination and burnout. It's a structured approach that provides a good balance between productivity and self-care. Tips for Success: 1. Stay Focused: During each phase, concentrate solely on the tasks at hand. Avoid distractions and maintain a laser focus on improving your work. 2. Take Breaks: Don't underestimate the importance of breaks, especially if you are the 8-hour study time without mixing it up. Schedule regular intervals to rest your mind and prevent fatigue. 3. Seek Feedback: Consider sharing your work with trusted peers or with your teachers and seek advice or help from friends and teachers.  ------------------------- Of course, this formula may not work for everyone, and it's important to tailor it to your own preferences and habits. Experiment with different schedules and routines until you find what works best for you! Has anyone else tried the 8 8 8 day division formula or a similar approach? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any other productivity tips you have to share!
