...See more Hi Everyone, I just broke up with my partner of 6 months because he's traveling to another continent for School and the distance could last 1 year or more. I know people say long distance is possible but I still have bd relationship with anxiety and putting myself in a LDR would hurt me way more than he would imagine. The anxiety would distract me from my Daily task and responsibilities and that was my major reason for initiating the breakup. I was crazy enough to think if we got engaged I will be relaxed but turns out he's 28 and wouldn't be ready to get married for the next 5 years. This is the first time I'm breaking up with someone in a bid to choose myself and the amount of pain I would be working into plus he wasn't looking for a compromise or tried to create a timeline or expectation for me to hold on to but expected me to compromise all the time. I have my regrets about my decision but I'm hopeful that I will be fine. I have more years in my 20s bag to run on. PS: He may deny it but I think the breakup was a relief for him too I just wanted to acknowledge my thoughts by starting a thread. If you've been in similar situations please share.
