...See more 1.Get busy-Being free and having nothing to do all day, all week is one of the biggest reasons why guys find it extremely difficult to quit masturbation. When you masturbate, your brain releases a “feel good” chemical known as dopamine which gives you pleasure and you keep going to masturbation for pleasure. When you’re free and have nothing to do, you get bored and your brain starts looking for pleasure. Since masturbation is an easy way to get pleasure without much efforts, you end up indulging in it. When you are busy in work, your brain is occupied with the thoughts of that work, so, it does not look for pleasure elsewhere. Your brain finds pleasure in work. So, if you are free and have nothing to do, find something to occupy your mind. Take a course online, build a habit, learn something new, travel somewhere or take some community work. You’ve got to find something that keeps you busy. 2.Exercise-Semen contains energy and when you don’t ejaculate, that energy builds up inside your body and seeks a way to come out. Masturbating is just wasting that energy, instead, you should exercise and use that energy in building a better body. You must exercise if you want to quit your masturbation habit. Exercise gives you something to look forward to, it keeps you busy and also clears your mind. Exercising also releases dopamine, that’s why exercising also gives you pleasure. When you are getting pleasure and enjoyment from exercise, you don’t need to go to masturbation to feel pleasure. Make a habit of exercising, preferably lifting weights in the gym. Exercise at least 5 times a week. 3.meditate-Meditation is another good way to use that extra semen energy into something constructive. Meditation calms your mind and gives you a peaceful feeling. Most of the people on this planet have a “monkey mind” meaning random thoughts just keeps coming to their mind one after another. They have no control over their thoughts. when you are constantly thinking random thoughts, lustful thoughts and thoughts of masturbation also comes to your mind frequently. You need to have control over your thoughts, so that lustful or masturbation related thoughts don’t come to your mind and even when they do come, you can resist those thoughts easily. Meditation gives you power over your thoughts and gives you the ability to think the thoughts you want to think. Make a habit of meditating at least 20 minutes a day either in the day or at night. 4.Be careful on social media-Be careful while scrolling through social media, especially Instagram where you see pics of hot models in their bikinis which can trigger your masturbation urges. You should be careful about your urges. Identify what are the things which trigger your urges to masturbate and try to avoid them. Ideally, you should quit social media altogether when trying to quit this addiction. But, if you’ve got to use it, be extra careful what content you consume. Unfollow and dislike all the pages and people on social media which trigger your urges, and limit your time on social media. 5.Be extra careful during night time-Identify at which time of the day your urges to masturbate is highest and be extra careful at that time. For most guys, it is the night time. If you have a job or work, you’re probably busy during the day, so your chances of feeling the urges during the day time are minimal. But, during the night time when you are free, that’s when the urges start hitting you. When you’re lying in bed, unable to sleep, that’s where you are most vulnerable to urges and the chances of you masturbating at that time are higher. Be conscious and careful about your thoughts during that time and try to not think of anything which can trigger your urges. Go for a walk before going to bed and don’t use social media before going to bed. You can also meditate right before going to bed, which will help tremendously to block the urge provoking thoughts. 6.Go out of your house whenever you feel urges-When you refrain from masturbation for some time, strong urges will come to you. The best way to deal with urges is to go outside of your house immediately. Urges usually last for a few minutes and you can come back inside when those urges are gone. Being alone in your room or your house when you get the urge to masturbate increases your chances of relapsing/masturbating. If you live with your family, immediately leave your room and go talk to a family member whenever you feel urges, it’ll take your mind off masturbation. You can also start doing push-ups or meditation whenever you feel the urges. Push-ups and meditation are the best “urge-killers”. 7.Socialise More-In the age of social media, we are all connected online but not in real life. When you don’t socialise and isolate yourself, you are more likely to get addicted to masturbation and it’ll be harder for you to quit it. Humans are social animals, we crave love and connectivity. Socialising also gives you pleasurable feeling and a feeling that you are wanted by others, so that you don’t go looking for pleasure elsewhere like in porn and masturbation. Go out with your friends on a regular basis, talk to them often and spend time with your family members. These things will not only keep you busy but will also give you joy so that you need to masturbate to feel joy and pleasure

...See more 1.Social Anxiety-It has been reported that individuals who engage in excessive PMO suffer from social anxiety. They don’t feel like going out and socialising, they isolate themselves. They feel awkward at social gatherings and try to avoid every possible human contact. They’d rather spend time alone in their room than go out and they find excuses of not going out and to avoid social gatherings. Whenever they are in public, they feel their heartbeat going up and keep thinking about going home as soon as possible. Of course, excessive PMO is not the only reason for social anxiety, but it is one of the reasons. 2.Depression-People who indulge in excessive PMO also reported having depression or symptoms of depression. When you watch porn and ejaculate, your brain thinks you just had sex with a real partner and passed on your genes, so it releases a “feel good” chemical known as dopamine to reward you as your brain can’t differentiate between having real sex with a partner and watching virtual sex(porn). As a result of a huge rush of dopamine, your dopamine receptors get desensitized and will now need a relatively more amount of dopamine to give you the same level of pleasure. As a result, activities that don’t give you that huge rush of dopamine, don’t excite you anymore and you don’t feel like doing them. Since normal day-to-day activities can’t give you the same level of dopamine as porn, you don’t feel like doing them and keep going back to porn to satisfy your high level of dopamine need. As a result, you start losing interest in normal day-to-day activities and start feeling sad and unmotivated all the time, which is one of the symptoms of depression. Low dopamine levels have been linked to depression and various symptoms of depression. 3.Low self-esteem-People who indulge in excessive PMO, have been reported to have low self- esteem. They don’t think highly of themselves, they feel worthless and think they are not good enough for society As a result, they miss out on a lot of opportunities in life. They feel like they are not worthy of anything good in life. They have an inferiority complex and think other people are always superior to them. This results in them not realising their potential and wasting it. 4.Lack of Motivation-When you indulge in PMO, your brain releases a huge amount of dopamine which gives you pleasure and desensitises your dopamine receptors. Activities which can’t provide that huge rush of dopamine, don’t excite you anymore and you don’t feel like doing them. You feel a lack of motivation to do the things which are necessary because your dopamine receptors have now become desensitised to the dopamine released by those activities, after receiving a huge amount of dopamine released by indulging in PMO. 5.Erectile dysfunction-It has been reported that indulging in excessive PMO causes erectile dysfunction. Porn induced erectile dysfunction(PIED) is a very real thing and the no. of people suffering from it has been on the rise due to easy availability and unlimited no. of porn videos available and high speed internet. Before high speed internet porn, erectile dysfunction(ED) was mostly found in older men, but now, even people in their early 20’s and a lot of teenagers find themselves suffering from it. Young men have reported difficulty in getting an erection or keeping an erection during sex with a partner. Some men, especially young, who indulge in excessive PMO, have reported that they have no interest in having sex with a real partner and they find porn more pleasurable. 6.Changed attitude towards women-Men, especially young men have reported that excessive PMO changed their attitude towards women for the worst. They started seeing women as sex objects. They were unable to form a genuine connection with women. They felt like they needed women just for sex and nothing else. They also felt like they were unworthy and undeserving of women and put women on a pedestal that screwed their dating life. Whenever they saw an attractive woman, they could only think about having sex with her. They also felt awkward and less confident in talking to women. They couldn’t hold eye contact and felt inferior when talking to women. 7.Brain fog & concentration problems-Brain fog is the inability to have a sharp memory or to lack a sharp focus. You feel like you are not yourself and you’re unable to think clearly. Individuals indulging in excessive PMO have reported that they suffer from brain fog and had a hard time concentrating and often find themselves getting lost in unrelated thoughts while doing an activity. If you’ve been feeling brain fog, loss in memory, and have a hard time concentrating on an activity, consider quitting PMO. People have reported that their brain fog went away and they had a much better concentration after quitting PMO.

...See more I am a 21 year old guy.I have masturbated & watched porn for around 7 years.With passage of every year my need to watch hardcore porn increased as normal porn could not satisfy me anymore.I used to get pleasure in seeing women in pain,treated as sex toys,beaten with canes on their private parts & body till their body turned red.I have seen women whose nipple were pierced with a needle,a woman whose vagina was sewn with a thread & various horrible porn.I just want to tell that porn destroyed my life & no one should watch porn ever in life.It destroys your perception of women & you treat them as sex objects.I would recommend people struggling with porn to watch Dr Trish Leigh’s video about nofap & porn addiction & also watch gary wilson’s video on youtube titled “ The Great porn Experiment” to understand how porn affects our brain & life.I would recommend you to join the nofap community(It is basically an online committee of people who want to get rid of porn addiction also check the nofap website to know about what NOFAP is all about.I have been on Nofap hard mode(It means no porn ,no edging,no masturbation or orgasm)since more than 90 days.every porn addict should try nofap(it is really worth doing it).After doing nofap I feel emotions intensely earlier I used to numb my emotions by porn & my anxiety levels have reduced a lot & I have got various other benefits.I know nofap is very hard but I recommend you try nofap once.
