I am an LPN who's been working in the field for approximately 18 years, currently on a supportive living unit, and working mostly with seniors. I am completing my Bachelor of Social Work degree with the University of Calgary and am looking for some experience for my self-directed practicum hours. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology/minor in Sociology. I have personal experience with mental health issues such as anxiety, post-partum depression and post traumatic stress disorder. I also have a 13 year old son who is on the autism spectrum, and this is an area that I feel comfortable discussing as well. My nursing experience allows me to feel prepared to discuss various health issues (diabetes, cancer, etc) as well as grief, death and dying.
