I think I made the wrong decision not moving out

...See more I was approved for a rental unit, all I had to do was sign the lease and pay last months rent. I'm living with parents right now at 31. I didn't tell anyone I wanted to move out. Until today, the deadline for signing. I told my mom, she convinced me to stay so that I can continue saving my money and why pay someone's mortgage when I can save and eventually pay my own. I've looked at houses, I can't afford it on my own. I have the downpayment, but my monthly cash flow is not enough to pay the mortgage with how expensive housing is these days. I had a plan, once I paid off my student loans, I'm moving out. I should follow through with my plans, this is the second big one that I didn't follow through with and I think I'm gonna regret it again. The cat is out of the bag now and I feel awkward being around her now. I think I made the wrong decision. Yes, I can save 10s of thousands living here, but I don't have a purpose in life right now. At least living on my own I'll have a purpose, try to survive, work towards furniture and gearing up my own place with my own stuff. The rental unit was really nice, although small. Newly renovated, brand new appliances, fully equipped kitchen and in-unit laundry. I can keep looking but that was pretty decent value. The bright side is, I'm not in a rush. I can take my time. I love my parents but I feel I have no purpose in life right now living here.
