I might not check messages as often during this busy year, but whenever I do, I'm here to truly listen.

Hi there! I’m a college student double majoring in Psychology and Communication. My studies have given me the chance to dive deep into understanding human behavior, mental health, and the power of connection. More than anything, I'm passionate about being a supportive presence for those facing tough moments. My goal is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share your thoughts and feelings, knowing you're heard and valued.

...See more Appreciation is a powerful skill that involves relating to others and the world with a sense of gratitude, appreciation, and joy. This fundamental attitude can profoundly impact our overall well-being and relationships. Practicing gratitude daily is a simple yet effective way to cultivate appreciation. Taking a moment each day to reflect on what you are grateful for, whether big or small, can shift your focus from what is lacking to what is abundant in your life. This practice can be transformative, fostering a positive mindset and enhancing your overall outlook. Expressing appreciation is another crucial aspect. Letting others know when you appreciate their actions, support, or presence in your life can strengthen relationships and build a supportive community. This not only makes others feel valued but also reinforces your own feelings of gratitude and connection. Mindful observation involves paying attention to the beauty around us—whether in nature, art, or simple daily moments. By savoring these experiences, we can cultivate a deeper sense of appreciation for the world around us. This practice helps us stay grounded and present, enhancing our ability to find joy in everyday life. In the growth path, it states, “Being appreciative enables us to experience a deeper connection with others and the world, fostering a sense of joy and contentment.” I never realized how much of an impact appreciation could have on personal growth and relationships until I started integrating these practices into my daily life. In my opinion, while appreciation is a strong foundation, many other skills within the 5 domains also contribute to personal growth. What skills make up your foundation, and how do they apply to your life? Here’s what I did to develop appreciation as a core value: First, I started a daily gratitude journal where I wrote down three things I was grateful for each day. Second, I made a conscious effort to express my appreciation to friends, family, and colleagues regularly. Third, I practiced mindful observation, taking time to notice and savor the beauty in everyday moments, whether it was a sunset, a piece of art, or a kind gesture. How do you practice appreciation in your daily life, and what impact has it had on your relationships and personal well-being?

...See more Openness and a Learning Mindset are essential attitudes in one's relationship with oneself. They involve curiosity, embracing vulnerability, and a willingness to adapt and grow. Openness means being receptive to new experiences and self-discovery, exploring our emotions and thoughts without judgment. In my younger years, I resisted new experiences and avoided deeper emotions. As I grew, I realized that true self-discovery requires openness and vulnerability. A Learning Mindset involves continuous self-improvement and recognizing that our inner landscape can evolve. Embracing this mindset encourages us to seek knowledge, face challenges, and adapt. Initially, I believed my abilities were fixed, limiting my potential. Over time, viewing challenges as growth opportunities helped me embrace a learning mindset. These qualities transform our relationship with ourselves, promoting self-acceptance and resilience. The growth path emphasizes that being open and continuously learning about ourselves enables self-acceptance, which is crucial for personal growth and well-being. I never saw openness and a learning mindset as foundations for growth, but now I understand their importance. In my opinion, while openness and a learning mindset create a strong foundation, many other skills within the 5 domains also contribute. What skills make up your foundation and how do they apply to your life? My journey to embrace these attitudes involved a willingness to change, a strong support system, and resources to change my self-talk. Each morning, I set intentions like, “Today I am willing to practice being open to new experiences.” This daily practice transformed me into someone who values openness and continuous learning, enriching my relationship with myself. What specific steps have you taken to cultivate openness and a learning mindset in your own life, and how have these attitudes impacted your personal growth?
