Hello! I'm breadloafy (you can call me loafy).

I am a psychology undergraduate, and I am passionate about mental health and listening to people who need to be heard. My profile picture is entitled "Making Amends" by the illustrator Holly Warburton. I think amends are made not just with other people, but with ourselves. There are many factors to healing, but I think the most important one (and hardest one) is faith in ourselves - the belief, no matter how small, that we will come out of whatever we're going through okay.

I enjoy listening to music and writing in my spare time. Talk to me about those things if you wish! I love being recommended books, and discussing psychology or neuroscience.

**Please note that I am not a mental health professional, and I uphold personal boundaries of my own together with site rules to protect your well-being and my own when you use 7cups services.**

Thank you for being here, and I hope to talk to you soon!

...See more After a thread I've created here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/DepressionSupportCommunity_52/DepressionSupportSessionsSummaries_535/Whatare3challengesinyourlifethataffectsyouthemost_62956/] on the challenges of depression, I've noticed that the biggest factor that was mentioned by everyone who participated is a Lack of Motivation. So this is for you all who needs help getting that motivation back and restoring vigor into your daily activities. Best of luck, lots of love. Source! [http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-13042/6-tips-to-get-motivated-when-youre-feeling-depressed.html] 1) Break things down into small, easily doable tasks. Things we used to do every day can get overwhelming when we're tired and emotional. Make things easier for yourself to do. 2) Ask for help. It's not easy to ask for help, but it's very important in gaining traction. Get a family member or a friend to remind you to do things, or give words of encouragement when you need them. 3) Do it for the sake of doing it, not to enjoy it. We can lose interest in the things we used to love to do. It happens. But step one to getting that joy back is to get into a habit of doing those things. This makes it easier to get the ball rolling again.
