SQ3RW: Have you tried it?

...See more Hullo, Fellow Students! 😀 I recently came across a study technique and thought of sharing it with you! Say hello to SQ3RW! This method is said to take all the information you're trying to study and nestle it in your long term memory which reduces the chances of it being forgotten or difficult to retrieve during moments of pressure and/or stress. What is SQ3RW? S - Survery: You begin by getting familiar with all the material you need to study! This helps you set goals while making sure you don't get bored or overwhelmed with all that's there. Flip the pages, count them! Check out all the headings and categories. For example: Introduction, Methods, Characteristics, etc. Q - Questions: Before getting down to the nitty gritty part of studying everything, you need to get your questions clearer. Go through the chapters and make sure all the information is clear to you so that you don't have to break you attention or concentration levels mid-way when you come across something that doesn't seem right. 3R - Read: Read up all your matter! Go over it again and again. Recite: Say the information out loud! Reading and Reciting works best for all types of learners - whether you're an auditory learner, visual learner or kinesthetic. Reading and Reciting stimulates your sensory organs - eyes and ears - and gets the information into your long term memory faster! Review: Of course, it does go without saying that you need to read up all that you have learnt :P This freshens up your memory and also strengthens the information bundled up there too! W - Write: Once you have learnt all your information - by-heart or otherwise - it is time to write it down! Writing helps to securely keep the information in your brain and also shows the weaker areas where the information hasn't been learnt properly. Plus, it is also a great way to practice for the upcoming test or exam! So tell us, have you ever tried this method? If no then will you? What's your favourite method so far? C:
Motivation Through Family

...See more Hey, Lovely People :) Earlier today I came across something Lee Iacocca said: I learned about the strength you can get from a close family life. I learned to keep going, even in bad times. I learned not to despair, even when my world wad falling apart. I learned that there are no free lunches. And I learned the value of hard work. My first immediate thought was: I love the parts in a film when a troubled family gets together to do something and solace, comfort and understanding is found. (I have quite random first thoughts, lol). While 7cups is a brilliant family that offers love and support any time and any day, what are some ways you can improve and strengthen your family to give each and everyone the motivation they need? It can range from family meals and communication to board games and trips. Here's a personal example: When my grandpa passed away, I got my family together to reminisce funny and moving memories. So what do you do with your family or what would you like to do? Share your thoughts below c:
Staying Strong Through Failure

...See more Hello, Community! Remember that quote you have probably heard a million times? The one by Edison where he says: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Failure is an essential aspect to life and success. it is also the huge hint that says: You are trying. You are dreaming. And you are living. Which is the best thing to remind yourself of, really. Since it is easy to stop doing all those things because of the fear of failing. In accordance with this, there will be two types of people in your life. Those that motivate you and help you try again and those that will remind you of your failures to bring you down. And it is easy to get stuck. I for one struggle to handle failures, especially those wherein I put my whole heart and mind into. Have you ever been there? What was it like? And how did you conquer your fears? Come share and be an inspiration. :) Just gonna leave you with one of my favourite quotes : The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough. They're there to stop the other people. - Randy Paunch, The Last Lecture.
Motivation Through Burnouts

...See more What motivates you through Burnouts? Hey there, Lovelies :) All of us face burnouts from time to time. For some of us, they can take a while to get through and often, we feel demotivated to try out tasks. At 7cups, we stress on taking some time off when we don't feel good and we also stress on the importance of self-love and self-care. However, from time to time we find ourselves unable to get out of the cycle. And once we are stuck, we don't know what to do. So tell us what you do when you feel burnt out. Maybe it can help someone else and remind us of ways we forgot ourselves. If I may begin, some thigs that help me are naps, showers, music and reading. What about you? c:

Viana is the most kindest and adorabubble listener I have ever met! She managed to help me through my struggles and even make me laugh when I was feeling low. She gave me her time and her ears AND cookies and hugs! Thank you so much, Viana, I really don't know what I could've done without you. You're beautiful and have a great big heart full of joy and love.❤️ I love you so much and words can never express how much you mean to me. I hope you're always happy as well and I wish that other people find you when they're struggling with their demons. I have no doubt you'll not only shed a light but you'll help them beat the demons too, just like how you helped me. c:
