...See more Has anyone in Virginia ever filed using one of those online divorce sites? Which one? How long does it take to get the divorce finalized from filing to officially done? How much did it cost? We have no mutual children but I have a child from a previous relationship who is over 18. Thank you!
Spouses and Reckless Purchases

...See more TLDR: Does anyone have a spouse that spends more? How do you handle disagreements about large purchases? Vent session: I always thought my husband was more smart about money since he's not as big a spender as me but then he went and got himself a new car - $36,000 with a $600 monthly payment. He called me to ask to borrow $2,000 as a down payment but I wanted him to get a different car, so I said no. He went and bought it anyway. ๐Ÿ™„ He has no income at the moment outside of driving Uber and we are separated (we love each other but need to work on our issues) so he's also paying rent where he's staying. I paid every single month all the car bills (loan, insurance, extra warranty - even while separated) even though we 'shared' a car for many years (2 years per each car because there was always an accident [this time not my husband's fault] after two years) but I only got to drive each car about 4 times. Can't deny that I was ecstatic to get this annoying car bill off my back. My husband fortunately was not hurt in the accident and the car was finally paid off since it wasn't his fault. I refuse to pay a cent towards this reckless purchase. I downsized to an old much smaller property in order to SAVE $500 since I was choking on bills at our previous apartment. I hope he trades this car in for a comparable used one. Thank you for letting me vent. ๐Ÿ˜…

...See more Has anyone gone on a wellness retreat? Going through depression and need recommendations on wellness retreats in the DC metro area and nearby locations within an hour of the WMATA metro system (I don't have a car). I've Googled it but some of these places are psych wards in disguise -- I'm NOT looking for a psych ward. Just a relaxing place for a wellness retreat with meditation, yoga, and help with mindset. Thank you in advance!

...See more has anyone else felt like they didn't want to be alive but they stay alive because the people they love want them here? i had a falling out with a friend yesterday (due to my perception of things) which sent me spiraling. i don't see a purpose in being alive anymore. I'm separated from my husband and i miss him but when we live together we fight too much. he has a heart problem so it gets even worse for him. i moved to this area 6 years ago but i haven't been able to make close connections with anyone because i have been too depressed due to the tumultuous marriage. lately the depression is getting worse to the point that absolutely nothing is really interesting to me anymore. I'm just continuing to do things because that's what alive people do. i don't want to be here but I'm trying to stay here anyway and i don't know why.

...See more Hello! I moved to my area 6 years ago but due to a tumultuous marriage it has been really hard to make friends since I was depressed all the time. Since we separated, I feel a lot more peaceful at home but even these last 2 years have been difficult to meet compatible friends and form deep connections. Where does one meet friends in their late 30s and 40s when one is not religious or athletic and most people in that age group are busy with their lives or not wanting to make new friends? I had a horrible incident with coworkers years ago so making friends at work is not an option. I've been fighting intense feelings of isolation on the weekends and hope I can make real friendship connections soon. Thank you
