Bio
My name is Seb and I am half Greek half Danish. I am non-binary, transmasculine, and use they/them pronouns.
I am a Psychology graduate, currently working as a content moderator for a media platform, making sure that inappropriate, abusive, or otherwise violative content is removed. While I aspire to become a professional mental health specialist, I find my current job position very fulfilling too, given that I feel I contribute to making the internet a safer space.
As a queer, non-binary person, I have much-lived experience when it comes to exploring one's identity, accepting it, and, well, coming out. Homophobia, transphobia, stigma, and exclusion, are all things that I have dealt with and occasionally still do. Thankfully, I have a very supportive family and live in a country that at least doesn't legally penalise LGBTQI+ people. Yet, I know this is not the case for everyone. Appreciating the importance of a safe space for people to navigate their identity, I am eager to provide my support and make life even a bit easier for those who need it.
Other life experiences have further motivated me to become a mental health worker. Witnessing traumatic events has given me a better understanding of the necessity of having access to mental health support, and unfortunately, I have also lived through (both directly and indirectly) the consequences of not having such access. My purpose today is to be by people's side, and together find a way to add colour to the darkness :)
