✩ Hi Welcome to 7 Cups ✩

Sometimes we need someone to simply be there...not to fix anything or do anything in particular, but just to let us feel supported and cared about.

Roles within our community

...See more The roles we have here and what they mean to us, is a point I have been wanting to discuss for a while. In society we all have a number of roles; child, parent, sibling, employee, colleague, friend, volunteer, student….None of these roles make us a better person than anyone else, they are just different choices and paths we have taken and the relationships that we have with others on our journey through life. Similar to society we have different roles within our community, these roles describe different tasks, all of which need to be fulfilled in order for the site to function. On 7 cups we are all on very different journeys, we each have different goals, aspirations, struggles and strengths. We cannot compare our journeys or judge them against each other. Instead I would much rather see us celebrating and encouraging each other. There have been some debates about people bragging about badges, I have a perspective on this that I would love the community to share. Individuals set themselves goals, some may be awarded with a badge, a review, some feedback or even a feeling, all are valid and as personal achievements all should be celebrated. I have often seen people come into a chatroom full of excitement at being awarded a badge that they have been working on. I am so happy for that individual as it is apparent it is a personal achievement to them and it really means something. This does not reflect or impact on my own goals or sense of achievement as it may not be part of my path. That does not make it invalid nor does it alter anybodys status. There have been a lot of ways to describe the paths on 7cups; these include phrases like levelling up, gaining status, accruing badges and many more. We all came to 7cups with different ideas and goals, I personally look at my path here as a journey of personal growth. I am happy with what I have achieved, skills I have gained and ideas I have managed to implement, at no point on my path do I compare myself to others, or question my worth. Some of us are great innovators, others are great emotional supporters, others excel in technical solutions and some are great leaders, we should all aim to be the best that we can be. I will never be great at IT, I have long accepted this and appreciate all those who do excel and can help me out, similarly not everyone is great at leadership or at developing ideas, but this does not take away from the strengths that they do have. Be the best you can be, at whatever it is you want to do. I would really love if the whole community can start looking at each other as people first, on an individual journey where we all cross paths and ultimately pull together to make this site work.
Congratulations to our Award Winning Mod winners!

...See more MissZ MissZ has such a great presence in the support rooms. She sets a great example as a moderator, displaying patience and professionalism whilst providing the supportive listening role. MissZ is consistently the first mod to respond to a call for help from any of the support rooms and will often help to support newer mods in their role. MissZ communicates any room issues to the mod leaders effectively and has given many helpful ideas and solutions during mod meetings. She is an asset to the team and we are happy to announce her as an award winning mod. Kdog334 Kdog has impressed us from the beginning of his time here. Recently, we had a large debate about the Loneliness Room. He put together a forum post that really was remarkable. He managed to remain respectful, level-headed, and kind throughout a tough situation for all. We appreciate his hard work and dedication to group support and his willingness to learn. He is a very fun and connected moderator, but still remains professional and adheres to chat room rules; these two things can be challenging to balance and it is Kdog who does it so marvelously. We are happy to be announcing him as an award winning mod today. Mayarainbow2 MayaRainbow2 has shown great progression in her role as a group mod. Maya has approached the mod leaders and asked for help when it has been needed. She has used the feedback to really improve on her skills and her confidence when moderating the rooms. Maya has moderated during incredibly difficult periods and has handled confrontations and challenges with professionalism and maturity. We are very pleased to recognise Maya for all of her hard work and to name her as an award winning mod. Lyra Lyra is an awesome example of a group mod, she demonstrates professionalism and compassion at all times. Lyra is great at taking the lead of a room whilst remaining approachable to the members. She has demonstrated that she is a true team player, offering support to other mods and communicating effectively with the mod leaders. Lyra has contributed ideas to the team and ideas to help improve quality, whilst at the same time she has remained positive and proactive in the mod role. Lyra is an asset to the team and we are really pleased to announce her as an award winning mod. Thanks so much for listening
Sarah is awesome.
Sarah was absolutely fantabulous, she was quite the joy to talk to and gave me many laughs.
Sarah is by far the best listener I have ever spoken to. She makes me feel so comfortable and actually happy. I feel like she really does care about me, and she understands too. I seriously couldn't ask for a better listener, she helped me so much and made me feel like I wasn't alone, even in my darkest time. She never judged me, and no matter what I said she wasn't shocked or disappointed, she just understood and was there. I can't say thank you enough, Sarah.
