Bio
I am a female in my 40s. I was diagnosed with young-onset parkinsons disease and host of other complications from it. Along with previous health issues. I started off approaching PD like any challenge, face it head on and over come it. Well a chronic disease is like nothing else I have experienced. I am now at the point where I mourn the loss of self. I like this summary by Dr. Bruce Lambert
"The real pain comes from not being able to be the person you were before you got sick, and not being able to live out your pre-illness hopes and dreams. This pain seems deeper and more personal than mere physical pain. It makes you question your value as an individual and makes you wonder how you will find meaning and purpose in your chronic life."
I also have a difficult home situation which makes the PD worse at time. And I am at a loss on how to handle the situation. I want to thrive but all I do is survive right now.
